Received my speaker today via next day delivery. Turned on right out of the package so it obviously had a charge. Connected to my phone with no problem and sounds great. I got the pink because it was $10 cheaper plus they gave me a 15% discount. I’ll report back as to the battery life etc.

product was nice but the first one we got was bad sound, manufacturer had us send it in under warranty and sent us a replacement that also was bad (didn't work at all) so we sent that one back and had to call to complain after nine weeks and finally got someone that just went ahead and sent us a new one (of an upgraded model, by a tiny bit) that works great and my son really likes it now that he's got one that works but it isn't this model, it's the one above this. ... show more

This is my 3rd time buying an Altec brand speaker, I still use the other two smaller ones and have had them both for 3+ years now. For the price they hold a great charge, have good sound and are durable. I have not been gentle on my first two and they still work and charge perfectly.

    • Designed for outdoor sporting events, but don't bother if your "sporting event" is motorcycle riding. Very quiet speaker.

I originally found these speakers advertised where I work and saw the material about how great they are for sporting goods due to being shock- and water-proof and the like. This, combined with the mounting capabilities on the bottom, told me it might be a great product for use on my motorcycle, as I could simply attach it the same way I attach a camera. (Too be fair, it doesn't actually SAY that it's designed for motorcycles, just articles written by people who have used other speakers of this type.) Naturally this meant I needed one of the smaller ones, something that wouldn't be too heavy for the mount I use nor large enough to obstruct my view of something as critical as the mirrors. (This might have been my problem; would a larger speaker have done a better job than this one? But there was no place on my bike I would trust a larger speaker to begin with.) And just yesterday, well outside of the return period, I finally got the chance to try this out on my motorcycle... and I couldn't hear a thing. Because of the sun I couldn't see the indicator light well enough to tell if the speaker was even on; I thought maybe it had gotten stuck in pairing mode or that I'd accidentally turned it off when I was aiming to turn up the volume. But when we pulled into a parking lot to check, I was going slow enough to clearly hear the music.... turns out, nope, this speaker is just too quiet no matter how many times I press the "volume up" button. Looks like I'll need to keep looking for something specifically made for motorcycles. Oh, well. ... show more
