  • January 2019 beauty box CRUSHED IT!
Plan Option: Allure Beauty Box
I love absolutely everything about this month's beauty box. I decided after hearing whispers on reddit to subscribe starting this month, and I was so excited that I signed up for two boxes. One through Amazon and one through Allure's beauty box website. The Amazon one has come already and I'm still waiting on the Allure one (hoping for the beauty blender minis variant!) In this months box: (Pulled from the MySubscriptionAddiction.com spoiler post for $$$ value $$$) Amika Soulfood Nourishing Mask – Full Size! Retail Value $12 OR Beautyblender Micro.Mini Value $9 Sunday Riley C.E.O. Glow Vitamin C + Turmeric Face Oil – 15 ml Sunday Riley A+ High Dose Retinoid Serum – 8 ml Ouai Hair and Body Scrub – 30 ml Doucce Relentless Matte Lip Crayon in Winterberry – Full Size! Retail Value $22 Mally Eyeshadow Stick in Burnished Bronze – Full Size! Retail Value $25 The Mally Eyeshadow Stick and BONUS NCLA nail polish (in color CALL MY AGENT) were both pleasant surprises. I'd never heard of an eyeshadow stick, but now I need to buy some (Mally Beauty actually sells on Amazon, looking at Pink Champagne for my next buy!). It smudges really easily before setting about 50 seconds after putting it on. A little sparkly, blends well smudging with my finger, and a surprisingly flattering color. Usually I'm bad at eyeshadow but this was super easy for a natural, flattering look. Nail polish isn't firetruck red, more like a more pink? Or salmon hued red which is flattering on my fair complexion. The clear standout of this beauty box aside from the pleasant surprises liking the eyeshadow stick and NCLA polish: a full size Sunday Riley CEO Glow Vitamin C serum. I've heard the praises heaped upon this product, and I am here for it. I need to get my skin in shape for my wedding in 8 months lol. Currently using Natrogix's vitamin C serum and liking it (softer, smoother skin so far), but interested to see how different luxury skincare compares to affordable skincare. The few complaints I would have is that the bag came with a tear down the side (not bothered, gave it to my son to put his powder brush in). And the Ouai Hair and Body scrub looked kind of like it had either been tampered with (if there was supposed to be a seal--it was super broken) and it seemed like it was more half-full than full. However, I don't know how they come packaged as I've never used it before, so it could just be like some products come with some air in it in order to keep the product good & etc right? So, not entirely sure. In short: This is an extremely affordable way to try out new makeup, skincare, hair products and nail polishes. $10/first month and $15/after is manageable for the sizes and brands of products received. Happy with my purchase and debating a third purchase. I looked ahead at the spoilers for next month and while they're not as exciting as SUNDAY RILEY! The mascara is supposed to be really good and worth the price of the subscription alone, so I'm happy to remain subscribed and gift what I don't think I'll use (but maybe switch to just one box :)). ... show more

  • Simply Lovely
Plan Option: Allure Beauty Box
Just got my March Allure box, and I LOVE it! The high end skin care in the last 2 boxes have been amazing! I appreciate the attention to the selections that go into these boxes, the products are all excellent! If skin care is part of your beauty routine then you can’t go wrong with box! Thank you Allure! I really love my Allure box! I appreciate the higher end selections and always find products that I love! I’m not looking for trendy products though, I’m really looking for the classics and higher end items. I feel like sometimes it’s easy to look at the number of items in a box instead of the quality and size of the items. Fillers are a waste in my opinion; I’d cancel a subscription who tried to stretch the number of items in the box with inexpensive items before I would a subscription that brings me higher end items. In my opinion, my only hesitation with this box is that I’ve seen subscribers complain that certain items are made in China and not of the same quality and price point as the ones marketed and sold from Europe...... I don’t know if this is true. If the items are not the same, than I would not think Allure would be able to market those products with the higher value attached as that would be obviously misleading, again just my opinion. I really hope that that isn’t true. I’d like to hear Allure speak to that, in fact the future success of this box may depend on it as it seems to drawing unfavorable attention on reviews. I’m going to be optimistic for now and hope that the products are original because I’m loving the selections! ... show more

  • Great to sample Quality Skincare, Makeup, & Hair Products!!!
Plan Option: Allure Beauty Box
I've been want to try a beauty box subscription for awhile now and after researching several different brands online and talking with friends that get a few, I decided to sub to Allure through Amazon. Mainly because I'm not a huge makeup wearer, just the basics, and I'm really interested in good, quality products for skincare the older I get. The Allure beauty box seems to focus on skincare overall and not as heavily on makeup. I signed up a few days ago and got my first box today. It's the Sept 2020 box and I'm thrilled each of these products! With wearing facemasks all day for work, I'm only wearing eye makeup so yay for the purple eyeliner and mascara! I love La Roche-Posay but never used their sunscreen, and I can't wait to try the Elemis cleansing balm. The new brush is a good reminder I probably need to purge some older ones as well. I've been using dry shampoo off and on this last year and am excited to give the hair conditioner a go. And relaxing face masks have become a Saturday eve ritual the past few months! LOVE this first box!! Will be waiting impatiently for the Oct box as it looks amazing! The price change for Oct doesn't really bother me because when you break it down, you get 6-8 quality product samples and full size items to try out for $2 to $3 each with shipping. I've never really considered dark purple eyeliner for $18, but for $2-3, yup, I'll play around with it and see if I have a new fav! Oh, and I think the Allure box it all comes in is a great size for filling with a few possible items I may not use and adding some other beauty goodies to "gift" to a friend for birthday, holiday, or just because - that'll be happening for sure! ... show more
