On the face of it this mask seems to be wonderful. It is much more comfortable than the molded cup style; and is smaller and stays put better than the "sideways duck" style common with KN95 masks. And from cursory research, it is my understanding that the KF94 is certified by the Korean equivalent of OSHA and offers similar protection to an N95 mask (although I think that in the USA NIOSH certifies N95 masks, not OSHA). However the masks themselves, as nice as they are, have no marking indicating "KF94" or "KMOEL-2017-64". (In the United States, all N95 masks I've seen clearly indicate their rating and often their brand and lot number, because verifying certification is so important. The packaging has no indication of "KF94" or certification either! Only the product insert (a piece of paper printed and included in the package) indicates "KMOEL-2017-64" and a "KATRI Certificate" number for the MB100. The lack of explicit markings and the lack of a way to verify any certification leaves me less than confident. I asked for more information as a product question here, but no one responded. I was prepared to buy these in bulk after I tried them and liked them, but I don't want to spend so much money for something I can't verify its safety and efficacy. Could the manufacturer please let us know: * Does the product merely _comply_ with KF94/KMOEL-2017-64, or has it actually been tested and certified by some official industry body? * Why is the regulatory certification not clearly printed on the product and the packaging? * How can consumers verify that this product has indeed been tested and certified to meet the relevant KF94 standards? ... show more

    • Beware - two different orders, two differently made masks

I've ordered these masks twice. The first time I ordered, I was extremely impressed by the design and quality of the masks. The second time I ordered, I was extremely disappointed. On the second order, the mask material was visibly different, felt different, and not breathable, which meant air couldn't travel through the multiple protective layers of the mask and instead came in and out unfiltered through the edges of the mask, especially around the nose. The first batch of masks, the good ones, had "RANG" text on the front of the masks, came with a nice flyer from Alliable Medical about other masks they sell, and had a certificate stating which Korean, US, EU, etc. standard the masks met; the second batch of masks didn't have "RANG" on the front and instead only showed "MB 100" in another location of the mask. The second order also had no flyer or certificate. If I knew I would get again the first masks I received, I would buy again, but out of fear of receiving the masks I received the second time, I can't recommend. It's an expensive gamble buying KF94 masks via the internet, and you don't know what the exact size and fit will be until you get them. Do you take a chance and buy 10 at a time so that you'll save money if they fit? Or do you pay the high fee to buy a single mask so you don't lose even more money by buying the wrong size? I've purchased CareOn, AirQueen Nano and the Alliable Medical MB100. All came in individually sealed packages, are similar in size and all have earl loops, but only the Alliable Medical MB100 came with a plastic S-hook to allow you to secure the mask tighter behind your head, which also helps keep pressure off of your ears. Besides the included S-hook, the main feature of the MB100 is that the mask is perhaps a 1/4" taller than the AirQueen Nano, and the nose flap is longer. It's a bit hard to tell in the photo but the M100 is noticeably larger when you put it on. Without thousands of dollars of testing equipment it is impossible to verify the filtration claims of any of the masks. Both NanoQueen and Alliable Medical publish test data for their masks. You have to trust that the claims are accurate, but you can only trust so much, so while these KF94-style masks may work well and are an improvement over pleated disposable masks I'd use a reliably sourced NIOSH rated N95 or better in high risk situations if I could get one. Without a good fit it doesn't matter how good the filtration is since if it does not fit well the air and contaminants will just go around the edges of the mask instead into the filter. For me, the larger size and included S-hook mean that the MB100 fits a bit better in terms of size and is comfortable, but it doesn't seal better. My glasses fog up when I wear the MB100, a sure sign of a poor seal at the nose bridge. The Air Queen masks have less air resistance so air is less likely to be forced around the edges of the mask if they otherwise have a similar seal at the nose bridge. The AirQueen Nano can be sanitized in alcohol multiple times without losing efficacy. The Alliable Medical MB100 can not. Each has its advantages. ... show more

I bought KF94 back in February 2020 before I left South Korea and this product is nothing like it - not in size, not in comfort. The product description reads that it is suitable for adults and older children, well I am a 35 year old human and this almost covers my entire face. Extremely disappointed. ... show more

I have purchased and evaluated many different masks. This MB100 mask by Alliable Medical is excellent. Assuming a good fit, it does not leak air even when breathing heavily. It is very light and it is easy to breathe through. I purchased 10 and I just purchased another 10. Highly recommended. Some reviewers say the mask may be too large for their face. My wife found the mask fits well, but it could be too large for some people. The four layer mask by Kleannara (Which I also just bought) might be a better choice. I love these masks so much I almost didn't review out of selfishness. I understand these to be the equivalent of an N95 mask in Korea. The fit is great for both my husband and me.
