    • Comparing the 600 and the 300....one smells and the other eliminates all smell.

The 600 blower models remove absolutely all trace of odor, while the lighter 300 models allow odors but eliminate particles. There are size and capacity differences between this unit and the less expensive TR 300. See also my review of the 300. The 600 can run a wide range of removal filters focusing on everything from particles to organics and nitrates. The 300 is basically a paper filter for particles. I have severe lung sensitivity to chemicals. I can't smell anything in the 600 set wearing any helmet option, not even burning toast. If you are trying to protect yourself from immune response, the 600 lets me do so much work without even noticing a reaction. The big difference with the 600 is the size. I was used to wearing a 300. The 600 requires a heavy duty belt, and the entire set up weighs more, because the filter on the 600 is clearly superior, it requires a larger motor and battery to provide a higher level of filtration. Filters are also expensive and will require replacement depending on the level of chemicals you are exposed to. The 300, being intended for dust, is less likely to reach end of life. because you are breathing in most chemicals as they are freely passed through. The 300 will pick up some odors when exposed grass clipping or smoke. The unit can be cleaned to eliminate these. The 600 will handle any chemical load, but the filter will eventually need replacing. Sparing you a lecture on airborne particles, this unit will handle 600 series filters that will handle any industrial load. Homeowners should have long filter life but with heavy use, you made need to research filters, which cost well over $100. UPDATING AUGUST 2018 I have been using and favoring the 600 in most situations. When working hard and moving around the yard, I like the 300 in situations with heavy dust only. With the 300. I can smell the grass clipping and smoke through the paper filter. These are chemical odors, small molecules. Mold spores and dust will not make it through either filter. The 300 is so light to wear, you can't tell it is on, and it is hardly fatiguing. Both are great for wood working. I bought a Five pack box of the Tyvek Helmets and never use my hard hat version. I have had the machine a week now under daily use. I am a 30 year hobbiest woodworker and 10 year wood turner. I was terrible at my dust control in the past and have now have a lung condition called sarcoidosis that may be attributed to that. I had used a Trend filter helmet and it was not very good, too much gets through even with new filter, trust me my lungs let me know. The Trend helmet is fine for chunks. Because I love woodworking/turning so much, I shelled out the money for this setup, that or give up my passion. This unit is simply great. The battery lasts all day (recharge while at lunch), you forget the helmet is on after a few minutes. I wear reading glasses and no issues. I wear earbuds too and no issue getting at these. The belt is comfortable but it does tend to slide down and I could see suspenders being nice. I was doing some large contact cement use and the fumes could not be detected at all. Given that it stops these fumes, it clearly stops all dust, even the finest from my lathe sanding. I feel that giving this a week of usage has been a fair assessment. Just do it. I work in a lot of attics and in the summer heat makes it unbearable not to mention unsafe, and I have to refuse jobs. After purchasing this PAPR I found that I can work in 130+ degree attics safely for longer periods of time because of the fresh and clean air blowing into the mask. The unit does not cool the air being brought up to the mask but the blowing on your face makes it feel like it's colder. Whenever I used to use the paper filters by 3M or any other kind of filter system my "anti fog" safety glasses would always fog up and I found it hard to breathe even in normal temperature attics. After purchasing and using this device I found it well worth the value since now I'll be able to take extra jobs even in the summer it will pay for itself. ... show more

This thing is awesome until the blower unit goes out and starts constantly beeping / powering down / or just refuses to turn back on. Used the first one almost daily for a couple years before it finally quit completely. I purchased a replacement blower unit more recently, it lasted maybe three or four months. It wouldn't be so bad if a person could re-wire the blower however the blower unit on the TR-600 is a sealed unit integrated into the circuit board. I'm going to try a TR-300 unit and run it from a cheap circuit board powered with a Dewalt 20v battery. I recommend checking out YouTube for a how-to video "How to fix a versaflo". Hopefully the newer TR-300 blowers are not integrated like the TR-600. For the price of the TR-600 I expected a much more reliable and durable product! Don't waste your money. ... show more

Expensive but worth every penny. The cost is cheap compared to your health! I purchased the hearing protectors and now it is a complete system. I wear glasses and had never found a satisfactory combination of eye protection, hearing protection and respiratory protection. I actually look forward to wearing this. It is quite, cool and my glasses or the clear face shield do not fog up. I have sprayed paint, cleaners, solvents etc. and you do not smell any odors. By far the best purchase for our ambulance service since COVID-19. Saves on PPE. Comfortable. I like how it has a knob I. The back to tighten or loosen for different head sizes. Air flow is great. Even on a 90° day, keeps you cool, and you forget you’re wearing it. Great product. Worth the money!
