  • Easy and quick upgrade to permanently prevent stick drift
Color: Steam Deck
Bought this kit as soon as I saw it available for the Type B (MHDA) joysticks. I had already upgraded the NVMe drive of my Steam Deck, so opening it back up was simple as before. Just go slow and be careful not to strip any of the screws, and make sure you remove your microSD card if you have one. From beginning to end, it probably only took about 15 minutes including calibration to install these new joysticks. Mine were slightly low of center even after multiple attempts using the button on the back, but running thumbstick_cal in desktop mode fixed it so now it's perfectly calibrated at 0,0. As others have said, this new revision still has the downsides of a square outer deadzone and that the joysticks max out at about 80% throw (e.g., if you press forward on the joystick 80% to max, it will always register 100%). I feel like most people won't notice the difference or can adapt to it, but nonetheless it would be nice if they fixed this for any future revisions. However, I would not recommend using these to control an underwater submersible due to this small inaccuracy. ... show more

  • Perfect as can be
Color: Steam Deck
I wanted to mod out my steam deck and I have been purchasing mods like crazy. And these were a no brainer easy to set up even with the YouTube guides that are out there. I would pick these up with no problems at all

  • Highly recommended
Color: Steam Deck
Immediately put these in my Steam Deck when I found out about them. Gulikit makes great joysticks and I try to put them in all of my devices. After a year of heavy use they are still working accurately. Installation was not difficult but you should be comfortable with taking the device apart and doing some light soldering. ... show more

  • This product needs some QC but it works for now
Color: Steam Deck
I waited to buy these once I got my SSD upgrade so I'd only have to open my Steam Deck once. I was surprised to learn that they now come with replacement caps installed soldered on. I wish I had realized that before I removed and desoldered the original ones but at the same time I'm relieved I didn't have to solder anything anymore. The installation is very straightforward as the parts have the same dimensions as the original. I did encounter an issue where the right stick's "R3" button was very stiff and would make a very loud click sound when pressed. I removed and readjusted the stick cap but it didn't make a difference. I ended up using some WD40 contact cleaner to fix it. Now it makes a normal level clicking sound and doesn't feel stuck when you push down on the stick. Calibration was a bit tedious with the tiny button on the back of the board but I was able to reduce my deadzone by a lot. I've been using the new sticks for over a week with no issue but only time will tell. I say that because I did the same upgrade for my Nintendo Switch and my Wife's as well. The stick in my Wife's left joycon started to drift to the left and no amount of calibration could fix it. I had to get a replacement sent. The stick on my joycons make a clicking sound when you rotate them and the right stick on my Steam Deck does too. It's not affecting anything but it doesn't feel right either. Based on other reviews, there seems to be a lot of QC issues with their products but they seem to care and try to fix it. ... show more

  • SD02 works great with Type B / MHDA thumbsticks
Color: Steam Deck
This is a review for the type B compatible SD02 version of the thumbsticks. In short, they worked great for me. The install and calibration can be done in less than 10 minutes. You'll probably have to calibrate them with the button on the back of each joystick before putting the cover back on, but it's not a huge issue. The container they shipped in also works well to store the original thumbsticks. I wouldn't have minded if you had to solder the caps on, but it does save you a couple of minutes if you ever have to swap back in your old sticks for whatever reason, plus you get a spare set of caps. My left stick's calibration was perfect from the box, but my right one was off a little bit. I had no weird issues with deadzones after calibrating, or with other issues people had with the previous version such as the sticks grinding / scratching / sticking, or the motion not being smooth. If I had to pick a "negative" it would be that one stick is was switched to A and one stick was switched to B from the factory. You should be inspecting this anyway before installing, but I'm sure someone will leave a one star review eventually mentioning the gyro not working correctly. Assuming they hold up over time these are a great replacement for the stock thumbsticks. Just don't expect them to make you a better gamer. ... show more

  • No more drift!?!!?
Color: Steam Deck
I had seen these on YouTube and wonder if they would make difference or if I’d notice anything at all. And they definitely do. The old joysticks were sticking and I could already tell it was going to be an issue. And these were the perfect solution. They are pretty simple to install. I took longer with the left joystick because there was epoxy on the solder pad that made it difficult removing the cable attached to it. Just be patient cause it will come off. And after that it’s super easy to calibrate. I’d recommend watching a YouTube video if you get stuck during the process. They can be helpful and insightful. Overall 10/10 on the build quality of these things. ... show more
