  • Show colors, weeb
My co-workers mock me about the key caps but I think they are really cool and represent my inner weeb. Now I must go find a custom Rei ESC keycap to top it off.

  • These Keycaps are Great!
So this keycap set caught my eye. It looked very flashy and I looked forward to getting it for my next keyboard build. The unboxing: The box that it came in was as pictured. There was no wrapping of any sort, it was just in the cardboard sleeve as pictured. As a result, the corner was partially dented. The actual carrying case for the keycaps is stellar. All 157 keys are laid out in a grid that matches most keyboard layouts well. The keys themselves: Each key is doubleshot PBT. They are cherry profile, so some keyboards will have some interference depending on how they are built. The keys are relatively thick when compared to some doubleshot ABS keycaps that I had laying around (The Black Keycap shown in the photo). There is no shine through whatsoever, so any RGB will have to be from below the keycaps. They do reflect some light from the bottom, so white light will reflect hues of purple, teal or red, depending on the caps. These keycaps feel nicer than the ABS, and are supposed to be more durable. All of my keys did not come with any major deformities. Some marks from the molds that they used are still visible, but its mostly out of view as these are located at the bottom of the keycap. However there are some font inconsistencies. Some keys, such as the alternate backspace are in bold. Most of the keys are not, including the first backspace. Its not huge, but it is something to look out for. The inspiration: So apparently, these are a clone of the GMK Laser. From looking at pictures, I can say that this is almost a one to one copy. There are a few differences, but its close enough. The main difference between these and the original ones are that those are made using ABS and I don’t know if they even make it anymore. Regardless, I would still get these as they are made out of PBT, are cheaper than the original, and are in stock with prime shipping. Yes, they aren’t original, but paying over $100 for a set of keycaps is absurdly expensive. This set is $60 on sale and works just as well, if not better. Conclusion: Despite these being a clone, I love these keycaps. The colors are nice and clean, and it fits very well with my build. If you don’t really care that these are clones, then go for it! I would urge you to try these out. ... show more

  • Nice keycaps

I'm happy with the look and feel of these. They go great with my Keychron Q5.

  • Knock-offs of the original GMK Laser
This is controversial, I understand why companies don't want them to create knock-off products of their clothes, phones, or whatever other design but this is a straight rip-off of GMK laser at a 3rd of the price and a barely noticeable difference in quality. I think GMK and their designers are going to have to up their game (literally make their designs harder to copy with things like intricate sub-legends or copyright-protected logos on their novelties). So why give this five stars? Akko included a stellar keycap holder set that I'll unironically use to hold other GMK keycaps. I'll probably keep these caps as a placeholder (that's why they're currently being used on my keyboard) and throw them in a Ziploc bag at some point. The quality is also surprisingly good for the price. At first glance, you would think that these are the real thing. There are also enough keycaps included to fit almost any keyboard layout imaginable (except for maybe ortholinear) - this set will work for both 65% and 75% and everything else up to full-sized keyboards. If you're wondering how I think this differs from real GMK keycaps - the feel is slightly smoother and the print is much less consistent between caps and less sharp, but only when you put your face right up to the caps. You can still easily read the print. The back-end of the caps (the cross design that holds the caps to the switches on your keyboard) is extremely inconsistent but not so much so that it causes any noticeable wobble or any of the caps to fall off your keyboard. One thing some people may not like is that some of the top-print on the thicker parts of the legends and designs are oddly glossy almost as if there are stickers applied to the keycap but I think it's just more inconsistency. You'll basically get what you see in all the photos. If you just want unique-looking keycaps without putting them under a magnifying glass to examine their overall quality or paying out hundreds of dollars to find the real thing (if you even can); you'll be fine with this set. I do wish Akko will keep doing this but with their own unique designs, I don't think the controversy needs to continue. ... show more

  • Like what they're doing, but misses the mark on legends
While I prefer ABS keycaps for the sound, these were definitely on the higher end of PBT keycap sets on Amazon. A lot of the cheap PBT keycap sets here are low quality, and have horrifically bent spacebars. These were pretty straight, and felt and sounded alright. My main issues are the legends. They're quite thin compared to GMK or Sumgsn, and despite being in the higher end of PBT keycaps, they still sound too woody/deep for my taste. The included carrying case is awesome, but unnecessary IMO as it only contributes to the cost. Overall quality but there's better options for the price these days. ... show more

  • Awesome keycaps!
Size: ASA Profile Color: Macaw(ASA)
Awesome product! I really wish that Akko would continue producing keycap sets that are "inspired" by other colorways. Akkos are awesome quality. The only nitpick I have is that I'd prefer a more standard legend design (small font on the upper left of the key) with spelled out shift/caps keys
