  • Sealant AND adhesive!
Number of Items: 1
Go to your local big box store for something like this & you're quickly overwhelmed by the selection. I've got at least ten tubes of stuff similar to this in my garage, all serving different purposes, in different colors. Love that this is a sealant & adhesive. Used it on an exterior window & the consistency is really easy to work with, it dries quickly, is paintable, and doesn't stink. It's a great multi-trick pony. Gonna pick up a few more tubes to redo the sealant on my windows, in my bathrooms, and in the kitchen. Good stuff, definitely recommend it. ... show more

  • Excellent Gutter Caulk

I use this to repair a leaky spot on my gutter and it works great. Best caulk I’ve ever used.

  • The nozzle is too narrow for the viscous sealant to flow freely
Number of Items: 1
From the first minute I had trouble getting the sealant to come out freely from the supplied nozzle. After struggling for 30 minutes with very tired fingers on the "grease gun" trigger , I finally wised up and took the nozzle off and the flow restriction was instantly gone. I applied the sealant, now coming easily out of the cartridge nipple, with my gloved finger to fill in all the cracks on my chimney between the flashing and the bricks. By the way, this sealant can be easily cleaned up with lacquer thinner as a solvent. Hopefully this stuff is truly UV resistant and can remain flexible for many years as was advertised. ... show more

  • Works as expected, you do need a Caulk Gun to use
Number of Items: 1
No complaints, just wanted to let others know you will need a caulking gun to apply this sealant.

  • I Could Barely Get It Open
Number of Items: 2
It was a struggle to get the tube open. When I finally did, I could barely get any product out of the tube using the gun. Maybe I got a bad one?

  • A product should be usable...
Number of Items: 1
It is important that the product is usable, and the Akfix Sealant was not. The first time we ordered Akfix Hybrid Polymer Sealant it arrived without a nozzle, so we ordered another tube and it arrived with a broken nozzle. Needless to say, we are not happy.

  • It’s like super glue!
Number of Items: 2
I have been able to use this on multiple things around the property throughout the year and it has not failed me! A very strong product and it has stored well for reuse! Literally like super glue, but better! I’ve used it on my roofing projects, around bricks, in my bathroom, around my woodstove, my doorway, in my barn along wood cracks and on broken porcelain just to give it a try and it worked!! Fabulous product!! ... show more

  • Very Thick, But Good Adhesion (before & after photos)
Number of Items: 1
The sill plate or kick plate under the door to our deck had broken loose and the previous "professional" caulking job was no longer sealed. I needed to do something to reattach the plate and restore the seal. I decided to try this Akfix Hybrid Polymer Sealant - All Purpose Adhesive for Window, Door & Roofing Gutters caulk product. I like the properties of this product. For example, it is adhesive, UV resistant, waterproof, and paintable. The white color also fits in well with the door and PVC plate white colors. You can see how badly the plate had broken away in the before photos. So first, I applied a bead from one end of the threshold to the other. This is a very thick caulk. Just piercing the tube didn't work and I ended up snipping off part of the end. It will still work the heck out of your hands with it in a standard caulking gun. Then I tried smoothing it out with my index finger, but the disposable glove I had on started collecting the caulk and it got messy. I will say that it is a back door and I was much more concerned with sealing the plate back under the door than having it look perfect. But that's just me. I used a standard shim to hold the plate in place while I caulked. After I finished caulking I drove a 2" deck screw into the plate and the wood behind it. If I had to do it over, I'd probably screw the plate in first and then caulk. But for my first caulking job, I'm pleased with the results. We just had nearly 2" of rain in the past 12 hours with more coming. I just checked the bottom of the door and it's tight as a drum. It's now had a week to cure and I will use some fine sandpaper to make it look a little better and touch the side up with some brown paint. Thanks to this Akfix Hybrid Polymer Sealant, it's now one less thing I have to worry about. Next project, please! ... show more
