  • Great performance at an affordable price
Style: Without 64GB MicroSD Card
This camera exceeded my expectations! I use it for motocross, and it captures high-quality videos even during fast-paced rides. The battery life is solid, and it’s durable and waterproof, perfect for outdoor use. Easy to use and excellent value for the price. Highly recommend!

  • Great performing - amazing value!
Style: Without 64GB MicroSD Card
Coming from an older GoPro this is an amazing action camera!! LONG battery life, tons of included accessories, and excellent build quality. It has excellent video quality and sounds is great too. I purchased a head mount and use it for recording model airplanes…I could not be happier!!

  • Works decent enough
Style: Without 64GB MicroSD Card
Comes with two batteries and they only last around 2 and 1/2 hours. The camera footage looks really clear and well lit areas but gets really grainy one's light starts to dim. It's good for a cheap camera.

  • Great for kayaking and other outdoor activities
Style: Without 64GB MicroSD Card
I wanted a camera for kayaking and hunting, along with other outdoor activities to be able to film and upload online or show friends. I am really impressed with the AKASO for the quality you get for the fair price. The batteries last a long time and the footage is very crisp and clear. Image stabilization is a must for kayaks or walking in the woods and is very noticeable how much it helps after trying it off. The included accessories give you some good options but getting more in combo kit was worth it for me ... show more

  • An excellent little action camera
Style: Without 64GB MicroSD Card
I purchased this camera on the recommendation of several review sites that I researched for purchases that were less cost than a traditional GoPro branded camera. The V50X is a capable little camera. I used mostly the 1080/2K/4K video modes as we took it on a trip to the Southwest US. I attached it to a shoulder holster of my backpack for some great hiking video. It performs very well in good lighting and acceptable in low/dim light. The microphone is acceptable when recording audio within say, 6 feet of the camera, beyond that is very faint. This can be augmented with two things: 1) the alternative back cover for the housing (however this negates the waterproof ability and and dust protect from the fully sealed back. 2) the optional $10 microphone, but this however isn't able to be used in the housing at all, as the USB port is covered when in the housing. It does have an accessory mounting screw hole directly on the camera (see pictures) so you can attach it to accessories without it being in the housing, which is good because there is no alternate housing available, that i could find at least - as you can find for GoPro cameras. Just a couple things to keep in mind or that effected our use. 1) There is no alternative housing that I could find. You must attach it to accessories via the on-board screw hole and leave it bare-naked. it is rubberized so it might withstand mist/dust, but without the waterproof housing it is in now way resistant to much else, especially drenching or submerging. 2) It is very particular about SD cards. The FAQ states that it needs UHS-3 SD card of 64gb max size. But I found that I only had modest success with these requirements. I took 3 cards with me on the last trip (2 @ UHS3 and 1 USH1) all name brand Lexar, Samsung, Sandisk. I was faced with two problems, as might be expected the USH1 would only record at 4k for 15-30 seconds before giving me an error regarding speed. I could lower the bitrate to 1080@20fps and have more success. Most disappointing was the cards legitimately marked USH3 exhibited the same issue, although less often. I would often have to restart video recording because of hte "slow speed" error. And 2/5 times the recording could not be started again and i wouldn't be able to record until I tried a new card. What I ultimately had to resort to was brand new USH-3/A1/V30 and V90 cards. (see the SD Association's guide to video recording on SD - https://bit.ly/2KKAqQQ). What you really need are V30/60/90 rated cards (UHS3 as well). Once I replaced any of the cards I took with these, i have yet to have issues. My last and only true frustration: probably related and connected to the SD card performance, was when changing cards the camera always insisting on formatting the card for usage. I could have used that card for a short video earlier that day (aka...not using very much of the 64gb) and it would insist on formatting before it would let me record later on that day or if I changed the card. It meant that I had to be very attentive to saving off any video the preceding evening before wanting to use it the following day, making sure the cards were empty or able to be formatted for the following day. It seemed that if the SD card had any recordings already on it that it could not index or calculate how much space was remaining to be used and resorting to telling you to format. This messed up several mid-trail hikes footage. Once I replaced the cards with the V30 rated cards, I have not noticed this behavior again. I can recommend this camera as an effective, budget conscious, quality alternative to more higher cost "name branded" action cameras. In my opinion it is a perfect option for those on a budget yet still have 4K video performance needs. An Excellent value for the cost. ... show more

  • Great Motorcycle Camera! Will use while snorkeling on vacation as well!
Style: Without 64GB MicroSD Card
Great Motorcycle Camera.! I commute 45 minutes each way to and from work on the Los Angeles Freeways. This camera fits the bill perfectly. I did a lot of research on the different models that Akaso offers and I found this one checked off all of the boxes. Pros: Larger Battery than the other models. Better image stabilization for Motorcycle vibration (As reviewed by many on YouTube) Price (Cannot beat it) So many mounts are included! Two Batteries with a charger base! Cons: None so far... I was unfamiliar with Akaso but did not need to spend a large sum of many on another brand. The build quality is great. The kit includes so many mounts that I had plenty of choices for my install. I ended up mounting the camera behind my windscreen. I used the flat mount with double sided 3M VHB tape and two zip ties. I also mounted the remote within easy reach of my left hand on my fairing (see pic) which is very handy. Real life use is great. The battery lasts to and from my office. The 64 GB card records 5 hours plus of video on 1080P 60 FPS setting. The image stabilization is amazing considering the vibrations that a motorcycle has. When I get home I simply swap out the battery with a fully charged one that is waiting for me. One note: I live in a warm climate and I notice that with constant (45 minute) recording, the camera got a bit warm in the waterproof enclosure. I switched the rear plate of the enclosure with the vented plate (included in package and seen in the picture) and it took care of the problem. Overalll very happy with purchase! I had a small issue where I needed to contact customer service and they were awesome. Overall very happy ... show more
