    • As good as the GoPro Hero 8 and a whole lot less expensive
This is an amazingly versatile and quality alternative to the GoPro. With the accessory package there isn’t any way this camera can’t be used. It’s extremely well-made, and I think it even beats the GoPro in quality. GoPro is made in China. In my opinion, that’s a negative. At first I mistakenly brought the Akaso Brave 7. So Amazon made it easy for me to return that action camera, which I returned unopened, and I received the BRAVE 8 in just two days. I also lucked out because Amazon had the BRAVE 8 at a greatly reduced price so it was a double win for me. I have yet to use all the features of the BRAVE 8 - mainly underwater recording, but that’s not the main reason why I got it anyway. As stated in the manual, the one click remote works well at even over 30 feet. The optics are stellar. It’s true that the resolution is 4K but I say to myself “so what”? That’s plenty good for most users needs. It may not be as great a professional standard as 5K but that’s relatively new. I was surprised at some of the negative reviews on the web about this camera, because the criticisms did not fit my experience at all. It made me wonder if some of these reviewer‘s got some incentives for their not very glowing reviews. The camera is made in the United Kingdom, not China, and has the majority of the features that the GoPro has at about half the price for the same level model. I also feel that it is more intuitive to use than the GoPro, the stabilization mechanism is excellent, the 48 megapixel image quality is beyond impressive. The front and back viewfinders, like to go pro, makes it all that much more easier to use in different ways. In my opinion, this isn’t one of those “you get what you pay for“ situations. Holy cow! I've had others in the past but nothing this awesome! The overall Construction quality, the video quality, and the picture Quality are all amazing 👏 I am very pleased the price point was very low I was a little concerned but not anymore I'm ordering another one right now being able to view on Wi-Fi is amazing I got to tell you I love this thing and I highly recommend it come back and put some videos and stuff on later ... show more

If you are looking for a good budget action camera then the Akaso Brave 8 is for you. The camera captures video at 60fps and the colors are more vibrant than that of the 7. Battery life is good and the camera features are accessible easily thru your phone, via the Akaso app, or the camera. Image stability seems to be okay, but could be better. I use a Hohem Gimble to help compensate with the movement. Sound is best if you use an external microphone. In all its a great little camera for the price. Was super excited for this camera. I really found a passion for snorkeling lately and I have been an Akaso supporter. I was only fortunate enough to use this camera 4 times for about a total of 2 and half hours before it completely stopped working. I went home and went to pop the battery case open to inspect it and the cover fell apart when I can see that there was water damage (rust developing) so I went to get my sim card out to save that at least and that cover also fell apart and can visually see water made its way in there also. I know the question is how deep do I snorkel… the answer is no deeper than 5-6 feet max. It’s a shame to throw money out like this, I should have got the insurance , that was my own fault. But I have to give this a major thumbs down. I really want to try this camera again because the quality was great but I am just not sure if I will stick with it after this ... show more

    • It's an okay product, but it stands short next to other action cams
I bought this camera as a backup for my GoPro. It seemed like a good deal, and the camera and its advertised features link with RL use. However, I found many of the features clunky. For example, you have to connect with your phone every time you want to link the phone and camera, and the front screen doesn't stay on with the back screen. Also, the accessories are a pain to work with and don't connect and unlink well. I found myself fighting with the camera more often than not. If you have a strict budget and don't mind finicky features, this camera will work fine. However, I would spend a bit more and get a GoPro instead. ... show more

    • Does Not Pair with Other Devices
This Camera has good resolution and Stabilization. I use it on my Polaris Rzr whild riding with a group in the desert, hunting, camping, and hiking. I purchased an hohem iSteady Pro 4 3-Axis Gimbal Stabilizer to use with it, but found it would not pair with the Gimbal because Akaso does not release the information needed to allow other devices to pair. I called Akaso and the agent I talked with said their cameras only pair with Akaso accessories. I asked if they have a 3 axis gimbal and they don’t. She told me there is no one else I could talk to regarding this issue. I told the agent that if there is not communication path to managers of executives that can make the decision to share information required to pair, they must not value their customers input. Based on that, I am sending my camera back and buying a GoPro. I wish I could express to someone at Akaso that lack of listening to customers and a lack of allow other products to pair will cost them sales, but I guess they do not care about that. ... show more
