  • A basic hen house better for bunnies.
Size: S
This is a very basic hen house. The assembling is easy but at one point they stopped providing pre-drilled holes and it got a little confusing when it came to putting on the roof because of this. There is a little cross part that supports the roof but there's no markings on exactly where it should be so I had to take it off and reattach it more than once to get it just right so the roof would fit. Unfortunately, the gap between the brooding area and the track down is very very small and negatively impacted by where this little cross piece has to go so a large chicken might not fit through that. You also can't lock it up so there'd be no way to keep the chicken in the nesting area it would still have access to the rest of the coop even if you need to lock them up at night. There are other parts of this that are very weak and I could see a predator breaking into it extremely easy. So if you want to use this for chickens you will have to put additional fencing around the entire setup if you want to keep predators out of it. It's also smaller than I expected. I knew it would not be a big coop but I didn't realize just how close to the end of it the ramp would be so I will have to add space to it so the chickens will have more more area to walk around. The tray is also poor it it slides in but it's almost too tight to add a whole lot of bedding to it also there are no roosts bars inside this coop so one has to be added which again cuts back on available space for the chickens. I bought two of them to put together for the combo where I have the hen house at each ends. Putting these two together is a exercise in frustration- they don't fit together easily. I recommend you put it together on a sidewalk a flat sidewalk because if you have any variance in the yard even a quarter inch it will not connect peefectly thus making it very difficult to attach them. I finally got so pissed off that I took nails and hammered the two sections together with nails just to hold it. This would be a better hutch for a bunny rabbit. I do not recommend it for chickens even small bantams or capons. ... show more

  • Great but the Directions need to be more specific.
Size: X-Large
The media could not be loaded. This hutch is pretty large width-wise but slightly thin length wise. Regardless it is perfect for 2 rabbits, 1 chicken (maybe 2), about 3 or 4 guineapigs (or other small animals). If you buy this hutch, I strongly recommend you build it where you plan to keep it because the wood is rather weak and you might break the wood if you drag it around. And as a builder's tip: when the instructions ask you to install the roof panels, attach the side roof panels first. DO NOT put the hutch roof panel first or you will have a difficult time putting in the screws for the side panels. Another builders tip: The building instructions does not explain which direction the side walls of the HUTCH go. The side HUTCH walls have a small piece of wood that hangs off the edge a bit, that side needs to go inward and NOT outward. IMPORTANT NOTE: although the Instructions recommend using a Drill, I do not recommend it. Although it would make the job a lot faster, you need to keep in mind that this wood is very brittle and the drill might crack the wood when putting in the screws. My final thoughts: This hutch is definitely worth the buy in my opinion. Its a few feet larger than my current cage, however keep in mind that this hutch is not too sturdy and can weather out over time. ... show more

  • Maybe for Dwarf Chickens
Size: X-Large
I was so excited to get this chicken coop as I am about to get 4 laying hens. The pictures of this coop seems so much bigger than it is. I don't think a laying hen can fit through them. The bottom is so small a chicken is not going to be able to get around very well. Not to mention the box it came is came all torn up, pieces of the wood were broken off. Directions were not very clear as to where to place the parts. Overall just completely dissatisfied. Don't waste your money. I upped my stars due to good customer service. ... show more

  • Nice looking but not practical
Size: X-Large
It was easy to put together. And out of the box it looks like a nice rabbit hutch. But I dont see this lasting long term. Its been about a month since my two girl bunnies have been using it & already they are chewing up the wood ramps pretty consistently and the door ways to the upper level. Also the upper hutch tray has little to no lip (depth to it, its virtually flat) so when you pull it out to clean it everything on it just scrapes off then falls to the bottom of the hutch. Also while attempting to clean it if rabbits are in the cage & Im not quick enough at reinserting it they run up the ramp then kinda fall cause they expected a floor there & theres no base below the tray (hope Im explaining it ok). Lastly this is a bit cumbersome to move which you pretty much have to, to clean out the bottom. By lifting it up & moving it aside to clean the floor/ground (which again there is none). It takes two people to move it carefully & not by the roof or it will break. I attempted to buy hardwire cloth & attached it to the bottom of the cage to make it more predator proof as we have this outside & to prevent my rabbits from digging their way out. I dont see how it could be used inside like some pictures show w/out modifications as again theres no bottom to the cage other than a plastic matt thats in sections so urine would run right out of it & onto your floor. While the look is nice & its pretty easy to assemble its not practical and most likely Ill need to find a different rabbit hutch for permanent use and just keep this set aside as a back up. ... show more
