First off, let's get one thing clear. There is not one single effect on here that is so good that it would replace any stand alone pedal that does that specific effect. Now with that said, I am very impressed and pleasantly surprised by this pedal. I was very skeptical given the size, price and ambition to include ELEVEN effects. It is a very small pedal, about the size of MXR mini pedals, with 1 big knob to select the effect and 3 tiny knobs to dial it in. The enclosure is metal and solid. It even includes a button with blue/red light indicators for the option of running it in series or parallel within an fx loop. The footswitch also doubles as a tap tempo! The chorus effect went from extremely subtle to very seasick warbly. The tremelo (personal favorite of the bunch) was so easy to instantly give me that Johnny Marr "How Soon is Now" sound. The flanger, phaser, vibrato, rotary, auto wah (envelope filter), ring modulator all offered very basic but decent versions of those effects. The interesting ones were "Liquid" which I'd describe as a chorus under a waterfall. "Stutter" like a more staccato tremelo effect. And finally "Low Bit" (my second favorite of the 11), which is a basic level bit crusher that introduces some background static/white noise and lets you emulate 8-bit video game sounds, my wife got a real kick out of me playing the Super Mario Bros. and Legend of Zelda themes with this mode. You should know that there is no battery and you will need a standard 9v power supply to operate it. Overall if you have a small pedalboard or are on a budget, then this really is hard to beat at this pricepoint considering the amount of effects and features you get in such a small size. ... show more

    • Where is the kitchen sink?
There is a saying, "it can do everything well, and nothing great." I like the voices/tones that this little pink pedal puts out. None of the tones are "wow, that effect is awesome!", but they are all decent. I do like the "liquid" effect. It is a nice fluid, bubbly, tone shifting, effect. I like the size of the smaller pedals, but this one could benefit from a little more surface area. I'm not as young as I used to be, and my eyesight can attest to that. The text on this little gem is TINY. The pedal has so many different modulation styles, it is hard to see/read what you're setting it to. That is when it is on the counter in front of me while taking it for a test run. On a pedalboard, at your feet, in a dark venue, on a dark stage... good luck changing effects unless you memorize the settings. That said, it is a nice little pedal that offers a sort of "all in one" modulation center. Keep in mind that you can only use one style at a time though. I'll keep it on the board for the "liquid" setting and try others as time goes on. ... show more

    • Value-Priced Modulation With Some Unusual Sounds
When it comes to guitar effects pedals, I am frequently surprised by what 40 bucks will buy you these days. Case in point: this AT03 modulation pedal from AITONE, a Chinese company that is new to me. In a very compact metal housing, you get 11 different modulation effects. Most will be familiar to guitarists, but there are four unusual effects here. LIQUID is an "underwater" chorus/phaser sound. STUTTER is an odd sort of tremolo/vibrato. RING, a ring modulator effect, brings back memories of my old Electro-Harmonix Frequency Analyzer. LOW BIT, to my ears, is the dog of this lot, as it seems little more than irritating white noise. The more common effect types all sound fine to me, and I especially like the flanger and phaser sounds. The three controls combined with the series/parallel switch provide ample tweakability. In addition, there is a tap tempo function...not something I use a great deal, but it's nice to have the option. The AT03 requires the usual 9-volt center negative adaptor or equivalent pedal power. Perhaps it lacks the "cool factor" of name-brand pedals, but it's solidly made and gives you great value for your money. ... show more

    • Great for the Money
I expected mostly to just get a lot of digital modulation options in a small package out of this, and possibly expand my hypothetical mini pedal pedalboard. I actually got some interesting and useful extra options I wasn't expecting. What really interested me was that there was a parallel processing option. Particularly with phasing and vibrato, that can really help make things work a bit better in a mix. I was pleasantly surprised by that being there on all the effects. This pedal also has tap tempo, which is a big feature for a lot of people, but something I rarely find I like to use. It does let you dial in tempos slower than the knob, at least. The speed knob seems somewhat weirdly calibrated, because it doesn't go as slow as I would like, and goes way faster than I find useful. There are some unusual modulation options like liquid, ring mod, and stutter (a very sharp tremolo as far as I can tell), as well as a bit crusher that is rather different than the other options. I did find that it was missing a uni-vibe, which I would have liked, and there aren't a lot of controls. All of the options besides flanger and bit crusher have a tone knob, where they might have benefited from a different third control. Still, you can get some interesting sounds out of most settings, and the parallel option is helpful for dialing things in. The rotary simulation isn't the best I have heard, but can still get some interesting sounds even if the emulation isn't spot on. It does only offer mono operation, and I do love some stereo modulation, but for the price, and with all the options available, this is a really solid choice. ... show more

This is a good addition to an affordaboard pedal setup. Multiple mudulations for a good price. The small, compact size is a bonus as space on a pedalboard tends to get limited. The tones I use most are the Chorus, Rotary, and Ring as they give my clean tone a nice-full sound, each in their own way. Other mods like the tremolo are good, a few are just ok. The Low Bit is the only one I do not care for. For the selections and price I find this to be a good pedal addition to my pedalboard. ... show more
