  • Great Little Solar Fountain
There are so many of these products available and I read a ton of reviews before choosing this one. It works very well as long as the sun is out. The flow will be reduced with each passing cloud. On a cloudy day it will still throw out a small burp. I have a shallow basin so the extending arms would not have worked for me and would have looked ugly anyway. Because my basin is only a couple of inches deep I was able to center the device with a few rocks which prevents it moving and spewing water outside the basin. There are several different nozzles to choose from to make the water shoot out taller or wider. They are very easy to change up. Once a week I rinse out the pump and filter. To clean the filter you just take off the nozzle, pop the pump out and rinse out the tiny filter which slides out. Easy peasy. I would highly recommend this for the ease of use and price. Next time I might try to find a device with a battery so that the pump will store solar power and continue to work during cloud cover. ... show more

  • Not all nozzles fit securely such as J & K, but works even on overcast days
UPDATE: I figured out why the smallest nozzles would not stay on the post. Apparently during shipping the pump, located on the underside of the solar panels, wiggled its way partially out of the post hole. Once I pushed the pump back into place ALL of the nozzles worked great. I upgraded my rating to a 5 star. That was easy! I live in a forested area with sun and shade rotating throughout the day frequently. Even so, it does indeed still work. It does fit the birdbath I am using it in. I spent close to 2 hours trying to figure out how to make the J & K nozzles fit snuggly on the center post (very small post). They do not and flip right off as soon as released. I followed the combination of uses for the other nozzles which did work. J&K were stand alone nozzles and did not work. So I am investigating other options and welcome any advice offered. I do like this fountain none the less and it is economical in purchase cost and cost to operate. ... show more

  • It is a little too powerful.
It is really too early for my review other than this caveat. This is the 3.5w version I'm reviewing. It is just too powerful for my 20 inch wide bird bath. It comes with several spray nozzles. The company has a video showing the various nozzle combinations. I picked one filled up my 20 inch wide bird bath and enjoyed the show. An hour later, maybe two, I found the bird bath empty. I won't bore you with my switching nozzles etc. Just don't match a 20 inch bath with this pump. Most of the nozzles will empty the water over the sides. The 3.5w pump is better suited for a pond or larger bird bath. ... show more

  • Great little fountain
Well it is easy to install. With the setup you will need to try out the different attchments We ended up using none of the attachmenst because the various spray heads would over shoot our concrete birdbath and would be empty in a couple of hours. So I removed the attchment and it just shouts up a good size nice looking short stream of water that stays in the bowl. Now cleaning the pump itself is somewhat easy depends on the size of your fingers, You might want tweezers to help. The is a little hook thingy on the inside of the slotted piece you first take off. That thingy fits on the inside of the slotted screen. That cut out on the slotted screen goes on the bottom so the holes line up with the impeller and it takes a good snap to re-install the cover. All and all it is a great little fountain. I just hope I can get a few years out of it ... show more

  • Love it but won't spin consistently
Love the fact that it has the guards where it doesn't go to the side and spray water out. That is perfect. powerful little thing. Love everything about it except the spinning top is cool but only works with perfect ratio of sun and shade on the panel. When it spins, it's awesome!

  • the legs make all the difference!!
I love the ease of a solar fountain insert- they can go anywhere there is sunlight! The problem with some solar water fountain inserts is that they do not stay centered in the water container and you lose water over the sides. Sometimes, the fountain insert can move into a shadow and stop working. However, this solar fountain is different! The legs are adjustable and can stretch to keep the water spray centered- even in the wind. The multiple spray heads offer many options including some that have an oscillating disc that will vary the spray pattern. Finally, the legs can fold back into the disc and it can store in the sturdy cardboard box with the other spray heads. The AISITIN solar fountain is an easy way to turn any water container into a fountain and hear the relaxing sounds of dancing water. ... show more

  • Very powerful - use a big basin
This is all about user error. I bought this solar fountain for a DIY bird bath. My thought was "if tiny is good, bigger and more powerful is better." I placed it in a 14" diameter basin, filled the basin with water and set it outside in dappled sunlight. The fountain took off immediately. It was great! Had a couple of visitors right away. An hour later when I looked at it again. It wasn't running. I quickly discovered that this powerful little fountain had splashed all the water out of my too-small basin and there was nothing left for it to pump. Lesson learned: this fountain is powerful. It will work great in a larger water feature. But it is too big for a DIY birdbath made out of a big serving bowl. Opt for something smaller with fewer watts and save this for the pond you want to build. ... show more
