This case is great to protect a pair of Airpods Max. It is bigger than other cases making it a bit bulkier to travel with but it gives it room for the expensive headphones to sit comfortably. The original case has no protection but it can fit into this case if you like the look or fold the tabs up and it will put the headphones into sleep nice without the original case. There's a full layer of padding and space to put a charging or airline/aux cable if you have the lightning version. The claimed charging opening to me is odd. It pushes up against the headset without a lot of room unless you get a right angle plug. Good Protection all around. The included covers for headphones feel slick but I feel like it will catch lint and dust. Will update after using for a bit more. ... show more

I ordered this case for traveling because the case included with the AirPods Max does not offer much protection. This case is obviously bulkier but is relatively lightweight and I don't think its excessively thick. It definitely offers good protection for the headphones. I like that you can use the case with or without the original case. I tried both and my preference is without the original case.... sleep function on the AirPods Max still works this way. My only negative is that the cutout for inserting the USB charging cable is centered on the case instead of being offset and located directly beneath the port. This causes an extreme bend to the cable which might eventually damage it. I included a picture with the cable inserted and bend to show what I'm talking about. As a bonus, the case also comes with a set of ear cup covers and a headband cover. The ear cup covers go on easy and stay on. They are thin enough to allow easy use of the buttons but still offer protection. I kept them installed after trying them out. I wasn't impressed with the headband cover as it fits loosely on the headband (see included picture). I removed it after giving it a try. ... show more

This is exactly the case my AirPods Max needed. The Apple case, if you want to call it that, wasn't very protective, and I bought a replacement from what was available on Amazon at the time. The replacement did an okay job, but you couldn't charge it while it was being stored. So to charge it, you had to pull it out of the case, which would release the headphones from sleep causing them to connnect and use power. With this case, I can charge right inside the case -- while they sleep and using no additional charge! This case is well built, comes with some protective covers for the AirPods. I am so glad I got this case, my old one, barely worn went in the garbage. This case is perfect with room for accessories and more in a zippered compartment separate from the headphones. ... show more

This case fits my AirPod Max headphones well, will provide good protection when I travel. I use noise-canceling headphones when I fly so definitely wanted a better case than comes with the Max's. This case is as sturdy as the case that comes with Bose QC headphones. I like that it puts your Max in sleep mode with or without the Apple case and that it's 'double zippered' (can open from either side). It also has a separate zippered area for my charger and cord instead of a open pocket (like the Bose QC case, which allows things to fall out unnoticed). I was so excited to order this case for my new toy that I didn't notice it comes with a set of silicon covers for the ear pieces and top arch (they fit fine)- Bonus! ... show more

Product did not properly fit as described. Without using the bra the airpods fit fairly snug, but I liked having the option to use both. Will look for a different product.

I got this to travel with my AirPod Max headset because I go overseas once a month. This seems a little larger than I will want to carry. The product is well made and if you have the space, it will be a great way to carry your headphones if you are limited, this may be a little larger than desired.
