We got this before taking an international flight. I absolutely hate the inconsistency of the length of some seat belts on some of the aircraft. And for a longer flight, I don't want to compromise comfort for safety. Why can't we have both? I used the extender on the first shorter, domestic flight. I loved the comfort and it worked well. On the longer international flight, my seat belt was fine but my son said that he drew "the short straw." I passed him the extender and he said he loved it. We were on 3 different airlines and it worked well with all of them. We'll be getting a couple more so that everyone has their own.....just in case. ... show more

Just took a trip on Southwest and I can confirm this belt is not compatible with the buckle on the 737-700 I was on. Buckle would insert into the latch, but wouldn't lock into place. It was a gamble, but gave it a go, anyway. AA is where I have the most trouble. They seem to have issue with larger folks flying on their aircraft by providing inadequate length safety belts. And I'm not that oversized. I am just big enough the belt doesn't quite reach on the CRJ or EMB planes (2 by 2 seating). I'll update this review once I've had a chance to try it out. Still giving this 5 stars. Build quality is good and appears like it will work when I get on a compatible aircraft. ... show more

    • Doesn't work with Frontier belts...
I used both Spirit and Frontier. I had no problems on my Spirit flight. On Frontier, I noticed that the plane's male piece was designed differently, therefore did not fit in the belt extender. It would have been a 5 star product if that didn't happen.

Saved me from awkwardly struggling to fit into the regular seat belt or asking for an airline extender. Did have a crew member on one flight (out of eight since purchasing) discreetly tell me I needed to use theirs for safety/liability reasons, but otherwise it hasn't been an issue. I clip it to the shorted part of the seat's belt before sitting so that I have two longer pieces to work with and tighten up once I'm sitting. ... show more

I purchased this extender after experiencing a connecting flight where I had to really suck it in to latch the seat belt. I had never experienced a flight where the seat belt didn't fit and I was embarrassed to have to try so hard to make it fit, especially when I had just exited a flight where I had zero issues. I bought this because I knew I had gained weight since my last flight and I am so glad I did. I have never needed an extender until this trip. 1 of my 4 flights it was not needed at all, 1 I chose to use because seatbelt barley clasped and the other 2 no amount of sucking in or wiggling around would have done the trick. I was so thankful that I didn't have to ask the flight attendant for one in front of my kids, husband or nearby passengers. My husband didn't even notice me use it (granted I was in the middle of our 2 kids). My only suggestion was I wish it were blue, like the airlines. I don't believe flight attendants noticed, but if they did, they didn't mind. We flew American Airlines if that helps any others. ... show more
