This is a great carrier whether you are taking your small pet to the vet or traveling cross country. We used this for both and it is awesome. The sides all lay out with mesh so that it gives more room and ventilation when needed. It has lots of pockets and is lightweight. I sent Precious, a 10 pound cat, from LAX to Louisville in it with a flight nanny and Precious was able to be in the cabin, with the nanny, in this carrier with no problems. This carrier worked great for us. Our dog is about 18 inches long, almost too big for it, but this carrier has pop-out panels that unzip to expand, offering more room while waiting at airport, etc. I can't imagine anything better for the price. Pics: Picture 1 shows the side pop-out extended so the dog can stretch out a bit more. Picture 2 shows top panel unzipped so dog can sit up and look around. There's a tiny leash inside attached to the carrier with a clip that connects to the dog's collar, so they can't run away when the top is open. Picture 3 shows the carrier with end panels open. It really is an impressive engineering marvel, all the panels and zips. And it's not difficult to figure out. It fit under the airplane seat just fine, but did stick out a little - not enough to complain about though. ... show more

i love them so much, i originally got one to test it out but then got one for all my cats. one of my favorite parts is how it helped my cats feel comfortable in a carrier! this carrier with some feliway spray made vet visits much nicer. my cats used to meow so loudly for the trip and now they meow a few times or stop meowing after the first 1-2 minutes. i think the reason why this is nicer for them is because it's soft and warm vs. hard and cold and it has greater visibility for them. it is also partially due to the feliway spray (which is great as well) while i was opening them up for the first time i was shocked by feature after feature. i don't think you get a sense of how many features there are from the listing (or i did a bad job reading it) but here is everything listed out: 1. tsa approved 2. 4 expandable sides 3. multiple ways of opening (side, top, and some on the expand mesh) 4. waterproof and highly durable mesh (my cats' claws can't rip it and they have tried) 5. 2 pockets on the outside 6. reflective strips 7. name tag 8. strap to slip on a luggage handle 9. bottom feet 10. 2 normal handles with velcro in the middle and 1 detachable shoulder strap 11. clip inside for collar 12. folds completely flat for storage (i have 4 pictured and they are just above the size of a normal cat carrier) 13. machine washable inserts and easy to wipe clean 14. gray inserts are held down by velcro 15. durable clasps, zippers, etc i love this product so much, everytime i go to the vet i show the all vet technicians it ... show more

It’s nice. Lots of mesh ends Sides Just like it says. Great for ventilation. I got the medium size. My dog is 17.4 lbs. He was comfy enough. He’s old so he sleeps a lot. I needed to take a 1 hr flight. His 1st. Unfortunately the expandable end & the front expandable kept opening on its own. Zipper tab’s stayed in place. I had to zip & unzip few times. That created a problem when I was carrying my dog thru airport w shoulder strap & maneuvering a rollaway suitcase & other stuff. My dog fell towards the expandable opening & we went off balance if you know what I mean! If it hadn’t been for that I’d keep it as I need it for return flight. I can’t take the chance though. I have to return it. Shoot 😕 I sure liked it. Took forever to choose one. I don’t think he needs more than 2 expandable sides anyway. ... show more

    • Use it every day for my maltese puppy
It's working for what I need, as my maltese puppy is only 4 lbs. He has gotten use to sleeping in it. I use it to keep him in it when I need to have him quarantine him from chewing, when I need to do something and can't keep my eyes on him. I'm not sure how it would hold up to bigger dogs, though. A trip or two would probably be okay with a bigger dog, but more than that, I'm not sure. My puppy has tried to chew on the inside of the carrier, but as he has a very small mouth and still baby teeth, he hasn't been able to damage it. You can open quite a few of the areas for extended room, which gives my pup quite a few views from which to watch me when he's inside it. Quite handy for my needs! ... show more

I travel internationaly with my 8 pound dog a lot, this last time my wife and I decided to take our 10 pound dog with us, since we stayed 6 months away and needed to bring her. Since she is 13 yo and her first time flying, lets just say she had a bathroom emergency on the carrier and I had to throw it away. I cleaned it and deep cleaned it over and over but because the inside of the fabric is cardboard, the smell would not get out. It lasted 2 years and would have lasted more otherwise. Also this carrier needs removable wheels, for its price I got one with wheels and just pulled by senior dog around which worked out much better, and she didn't have an accident since she was more stable. The size it good since it is TSA compliant, but they should make the structure better so it wouldn't be so wobly and might feel higher inside for the pet. Overall, it is a decent carrier but I got one with wheels and not going back! ... show more

MY CATS USUALLY GET SUPER NERVOUS BEING PUT IN A CARRIER... BECAUSE WE HARDLY EVER NEED TO USE THEM. BUT, BECAUSE THEY COULD SEE EVERYTHING AND ACTUALLY BE ABLE TO EASILY MOVE AROUND... THEY WERE ACTUALLY OKAY & WEREN'T ACTING OUT, IN ANY WAY. THEY ACTUALLY STAYED CALM FOR THE TIME THEY NEEDED TO BE IN THEM. ** WE ALSO USED A CALMING SPRAY BEFORE PUTTING THEM INSIDE... BUT, THE DIFFERENCE IN THEIR "ATTITUDE" FROM USING THE OTHER CARRIERS... WAS INCREDIBLE!! THE CALMING SPRAY WAS ALSO USED IN THE OTHER CARRIERS. SO, IT WASN'T THE SPRAY "WORKING"... IT WAS MOST DEFINITELY --THIS-- CARRIER... BECAUSE THEY COULD SEE EVERYTHING AROUND THEM, NOT FEELING SO "TRAPPED" & THE FACT THAT THEY COULD ACTUALLY MOVE AROUND! *** RECOMMEND FOR EVERYONE WITH FUR BABIES!! ... show more
