I needed a water bottle to take to tennis, and it was important that I have one that is easy to drink from, doesn’t leak, and that has some kind of carabiner or strap to make it easy to carry. This does most of that well. The bottle doesn’t leak and has a small strap that you can attach to a belt or carabiner. It’s got a push button to open the lid, and to protect the spout at the top. It’s relatively easy to drink from, with a straw that allows you to drink without having to tilt the bottle. However, when drawing in water, the bottle makes a slight whistling sound as air enters the small hole at the top. The box comes with the bottle, straw, instruction manual, and two flavor pods. I haven’t used the pods at all, since all I wanted was the bottle. And the orange color makes it really easy to find and identify as mine. It’s just hard to lose. I’d recommend it. ... show more

So let me go into this saying that the gimmick that makes this thing work is more of an issue to me than anything else in this review. The idea of a scent pod to "flavor" your water is a good one. And has quite a bit of merit to it. But i think there are some execution issues here. The two flavors/scents included with my bottle were cherry cola and watermelon. This is a major problem. First, cherry cola is one of my favorites. But getting the smell without carbonation is at best drinking flat soda. Ick. I tried starting with seltzer water but plain carbonated water has its own taste which isn't being hidden by an actual cherry cola flavor. So now i get a flat soda that's gone off. Bigger ick. Second, i don't know what watermelon smell like specifically because i have never sniffed a watermelon. But the bubblegum-like scent from the ring wasn't very good at triggering a watermelon flavor to my water. I think it honestly confused my senses because i just tasted "not right". I would like to have tried an apple or raspberry flavor or something citrus maybe. I think those would lend themselves to this gimmick quite well. I have already tried those waters that are doped with a tiny bit of the actual flavor chemicals and those seem to work pretty good. Otherwise, i think i will just stick with my water tasting and smelling like water: tasteless and odorless. Afterall, that's why i filter my water so much. As far as the bottle itself, it is well constructed for the most part and seems quite durable. The tolerances on the hinge and latch are well done and work very smoothly. I did have some trouble with the straw but i think that was caused by two things. One, the air vent on the bottle is very tiny and wasn't fully opened. I poked it out with a pin as it is primarily to prevent vacuum lock. Second, the straw and the socket it fits in are both silicone. This is good for cleaning but the fit between them can be difficult. Two soft plastics will tend to bunch up when put together like this creating air gaps. We all know how much fun it is to drink through a straw with a hole in it. I can think of several fixes for this but that is beyond the scope of this review. In summary, i think this concept and this specific bottle might be great for some people. For me it was more of a meh. I am glad i tried it. I am even more glad i didn't spend $60 on a brand name version of this concept. ... show more

I was unsure of this bottle, but my son really wanted to try it, so I ordered it. To be honest, it is pretty amazing that someone figured out how to trick your brain this way. The water really does taste like whichever scent you put in there. Comes with a lot of scents, even milk (which I do not like but someone might). Great quality bottle as well! ... show more

Gave this to my son who had been curious about the name-brand version he's seen online. Overall, it's not any game-changer, but it does seem like an okay water bottle. The positives, he says that the texture is very nice, it's a smooth plastic but slightly grippy. The bright green color will make it hard to lose track of. My son likes the flexible straw and bite-able nozzle, as well as the fact that it has a locking lid. Finally, the size is just right for teenage hands, while still providing a good amount of water for a day. On the minus side, the whole point of this bottle (the scent cartridge) barely seems to smell like anything. We all sniffed it right up close and it barely smelled like anything. For that reason, the water just tasted like water (and slightly like plastic, so even though we'd washed it, make sure you scrub it very well before use). I do appreciate all the features and the fact that it has a carry strap, cartridge holder, extra smell cartridge, etc. Seems like a nice and sturdy bottle. However, the gimmick is the scent-flavored water, and for us, it failed on that front. He still wants to use it, though, and we will try with other brands of cartridge to see if perhaps it's just the ones that came with this set. ... show more

This bottle does exactly what it's supposed to do. The "hole" in the straw really does deliver a pretty strong sense of flavor. I like the pod carrying case so I can have coffee flavor in the am and the cola flavor in the afternoon. My complaint, though.... is that drinking through a straw with a "hole" in it is super weird. It also makes a fair bit of noise, so this probably isn't a great idea for a quiet office or classroom. I should also mention that I get a lot out of aromatherapy, so this system actually works pretty well for me. I would imagine if you're not a fan of aromatherapy, you might not enjoy this as much. Nice flavor pod water bottle just wish they included more pods to sample. These are portable however they do not fit in car cupholders unless you have an extended size holder other than that it’s a great water bottle.
