Choose the best for hard water and iron removal Eliminates Red Staining from iron Eliminates scale from hard water Removes Manganese Meter Based Regeneration Fleck 5600SXT Digital Control Head 1" Bypass Valve Structural USA Tank Treats up to 18GPM Special fine mesh resin made to last longer in the presence of iron and filter better! Control Head - 5 year Tank - 10 year DIY Installation Instructions Eliminate the hard water that causes scale build up and iron that causes red staining with a single system! Eliminates Scale Buildup - Hard water causes a white flaky build up (called scale) to form on appliances, faucets, and just about anything that it comes in regular contact with. By removing the hard water, this scale build up is stopped in its tracks, so you don't have to worry about scrubbing it off any more. In addition, without the added wear and tear of scale buildup, your appliances and fixtures will last longer! Removes Ferrous Iron - this system is able to remove ferrous (clear water) iron, if you have ferric (red water) iron a dedicated iron filter is recommended. Removes Manganese - Manganese is commonly seen as a black "slimy" stain or build up. Meter Based Regeneration - This system uses a meter based regeneration process. This means that the water you use is measured and the system only regenerates when needed. If water needs increase the system regenerates more often to keep up. If less water is being used, the system regenerates less often to conserve water. • Great product and It's made in the USA!
I searched for water filters in my orders and saw I never left a review for thes softner. I purchased the 80,000 grain model in 2019 still working solid in 2025. It was one size larger than the hardness calculations called for. It was shipped well, the media came separate in bags I had to add myself. It went easy it came with a large funnel. My water before this softner was bad! Lots of calcium, manganese, and iron. It smelled bad and was un drinkable. After the softner water is great! No smell, no sediment, no rust in sinks or toilets. I had a plumber install the system. I also had the plumber add a whole house pre-filter at the same time. The filter extends the life of the media inside the softner. I'm glad I bought it it works great! ... show more

  • 5-star system, 4-star delivery
I would've given it 5-stars, but the seller kind of dropped the ball right out of the gate (missing a tube, model number confusion, and instructions caused a 2-day delay). Very simple installation once you lug the resin tank to it's new home. Very heavy. Programming very simple. Make sure you know your water hardness and iron ppm (no test kit included). Water has never been so clear and iron-free. If you also do not receive the plastic tube that runs from the tank to the salt basin, see my pic for the right size. The unit arrived super fast. I ordered the 80k system, but their closest warehouse only had 64k systems. The only difference is 0.5 cubic feet of resin in the tank. They added extra resin to a 64k tank, but didn't mark the box to show it was an 80k unit, so I initially thought I had the wrong unit. No one told me the story until I sent them an email and left a voicemail. BUT they did assemble the valve for me. Arrives on a pallet via freight service, so you will need to be home for the delivery. ... show more

  • Good for the money
For the money I feel this is a great value. I've had a Rain Soft unit for 20+ years. I bought the Rain Soft unit at a garage sale for $200. Rain Soft was stupid expensive 20 years ago but it was a bargain at the garage sale! I live on a shallow East Texas well. The water stinks and is full if iron. I know Rain Soft units had excellent resin in them 20 years ago so it lasted well. This unit has a fairly good resin in it. I'm not sure you can get excellent resin anymore? The resin in this unit comes from India. The quality is higher than Chinese resin. The best was made in the U.S. but not anymore? Don't waste your money on 5K units that are sold by high pressure sales people. I bought more than I needed in the 80K grain model hoping to get 20 years out of it? We'll see I suppose? The resin is the key to any water softner. The very cheap ones have very cheap resin. They will not last but maybe 5 years if you have hard water with iron. This is just about as good is you can get. If the electronics hold up? I guess I can always replace the head if needed in the future. To sum it up it's a good softner for the money. ... show more

  • Leaks Beads, Support Line Inactive
This water softener leaks the beads which are supposed to soften the water. The beads run out of the tank and down the drain line. I tried calling the support line printed on their instructions, but it is disconnected. Bad design, with no customer support.

  • Lasted 2.5 years
The media could not be loaded. Worked good for two years. At the two years and two month mark we had some major issues and needed repairs done. At the two and a half year mark black mold started growing into the barrel where the salt goes. I had two repairs guys (a friend and a certified plumber) tell me it’s the tower and it will need to be replaced. ... show more

  • Great for high iron water
Great for high iron well water. I have a hardness of 200+ ppm. 0 hardness now. No more scale or rusty water spots. Soap use and detergent use is half. Uses very little salt

  • Buy through a real vender in case your resin tank implodes like mine did
If you buy this through Amazon there will be zero warranty support. I recommend buying this through another vendor instead. The tank imploded after 2 years of use. It should still be under warranty through the manufacturer but Amazon will not fill it and the manufacturer cannot fill it directly with a customer, it has to be filled through the seller. It worked ok for about 6 months. If Amazon would hold their end of the warranty up I would consider 4 stars. ... show more

  • Does what it it supposed to do
This softener works as it is supposed to. Our well water comes out crystal clear and soft now. It takes out iron in addition to a lot of other particles, and in conjunction with a UV filter, it makes our well water safe to drink.
