  • Great Filter
As far as aftermarket performance filters go, this one is well built and fit perfectly inside the RAM 1500 5.7L Hemi engine air box. There is some controversy regarding the direct benefits of using these types of dry (no oil) filters, so you will have to judge for yourself if you feel any difference, or achieve different mileage figures. Installation is less than 5 minutes, turning all six screws on the air housing... another 20 minutes. Follow up... after a week of high altitude and high heat driving, I’m impressed. My mileage is up, the engine seems to have better throttle response, sounds better at full throttle, and the truck seems to start and idle smoother. Not scientific... but good enough to be noticeable over the old paper filter. ... show more

  • Lifetime warranty,easy install w/ great seal, 1 mpg improvement on 5.7L
Bought 4 years ago and still filters very well after several cleanings. Increased 1 mpg. I saw some reviews on this that may lead you to not buy this and wanted to give a little info about the concerns I saw from others. It has been stated K&N paperwork was found in box. That is because K&N manufacturers this filter. I have owned multiple K&N filters and their quality is second to none and see this as a positive especially at the price. Others stated the filter was hard to install and if you neglect the proper installation as recommended by Ram I'm sure it is. All you need is an 8mm or 5/16" socket and loosen all 2 of the clamps on intake tube. Air flow sensor twist out and remove. Lift intake tube off. Then put the filter in. It is so easy. The filter has an excellent seal. Tuned the truck about a year later and had no issues with flow. Added fuel and timing consitant with stock filter. For max HP an oiled performance filter will flow a little more but not much. The factory air box brings air in from outside engine bay and is well thought out. It is effectively a cold air intake so there is not a lot to gain in air on these RAM 1500s other than smooth intake tube and hi flow filter so if you want more HP tune it vs expensive aftermarket intake as this filter works fine with tuning. ... show more

  • Helps the truck RAM breathe better
Fitment as required. Looked and felt well constructed. Noticiable increase in air into the engine… Butt dyno felt a noticeable increase in pick up and go.

  • Excellent lag eliminator on takeoff for EcoDiesel 2016
First of all, i want to clarify that yes this does come with loose silicone fibers but you can pre-wash this prior to use. The side that goes in the intake is clean with no traces of the loose cutout media so its all good because thats the dirty side. Who cares. As for performance relating to the lag, well our EcoDiesel truck is got the horrible complete stop to acceleration lag and this does correct it somewhat, 10% eliminated. The turbo does release and it does not have that jerk anymore making it almost seamless of the lag it normally had suffocating from the paper filter. The truck does seem to have a better response and not feeling the truck jerk is much more like a car to drive. Excellent. I drive 22.5 Miles one way and i will update this tomorrow with my same drive without changing drive habit. I did notice that my rpm do run lower before the computer flash Fiat decided to do on the recall or update as they call it. My truck is back running at lower RPM so I may get at least 1-2 mpg more. Will test and confirm any improvements. As for today the simple reason of being able to wash the filter is what i was after but getting the extra lag eliminated made it way better. By the way the filter is more tight then paper one so yes you have to pull away from truck to get hinge in then push down hard to lock in place. This is not bad its actually nicer because you know its a tight seal preventing any manufacturing particles from sliding to clean side. Upate tomorrow based on drive performance. I will also update my mpg if it changes. UPDATE: The convenience of not going to store simply gives you that extra MPG. My truck did have a lag jerk effect and this help it that at least it dont pull. I had my truck tuned and in conbination to this and using Amsoil Gear Oil gave me what I was after. Overall this here helps the vehicle. I think the cleaning could simply be done with soap and water in a 5 gal bucket by submerged wash and no scrubbing. Save the money and dont get that expensive cleaner, not needed. UPDATE: Today April 5, 2019. still running great. I washed the filter in hot water in my tub and man it collected some fine dust. smaller than a grain of sugar. This filter obviously works. I did notice that I ran water on top before rinsing it and the water would not run down to the other side, after cleaning it multiple times it did. Now either my filter was clogged or this is restricting air now after this time since I bought it. I went ahead and washed it and I will see if this changes my MPG now that it is washed. This may need more frequent washing and I'm not in a dirty area. Good media for filtering, or just too much media. we will see. ... show more

  • Perfect Fit, Definitely Recommend
I purchased this AEM high flow filter for my new to me 09 Ram 2500 SLT / Hemi. Four clips on the air filter box and the old filter was sliding out and the new one going in. My old filter was definitely clogged up a bit but with this new AEM filter on I am seeing a consistent 2mpg better (need all we can get in these Hemi's). I have purchased at least 3-4 of these filters over the years and have never had one issue. My previous truck still has an AEM dry filter on it that has been washed numerous times and is still going strong. I definitely recommend this product, help your engine breathe better and save some money at the pump as well! ... show more

  • 3 more mpgs and you definetly tell a difference compared to stock paper filter as you gain alot better throttle response and som
I have had this filter for a few weeks now and i am very impressed! I have a 2013 Ram 1500 with a 5.7 hemi. I actually replaced a K&N with this filter. Fuel mileage and HP gains arent that much but they are there. About 1.3 more mpgs and you definetly tell a difference compared to stock paper filter as you gain alot better throttle response and some noticeable low end. Love the fact that it is a Dry filter that you dont have to oil... This filter has the same performance as my K&N but a better price and less hassle. Great buy if you have 2009 thru 2016 Ram 1500 hemi.. ... show more

  • Well Made, Fit perfectly
This looks and feels well made. Fit perfectly in my 2021 ram 5.7. I don't know if there is any performance increase, but if I never need to purchase a new air filter then I am happy.
