  • Decent smoke detectors
Style: 1-Pack(Wi-Fi Linked)
Set up and installation was easy. I have a separate wireless router with a non-complicated Wi-Fi password. I found that long or special character passwords don't play well with wireless IoT devices. I got three of these smoke/CO detectors to replace my existing that were tied into 120VAC with tandem wiring. The AEGISLINK Wi-Fi do not tie together nor do they integrate with Alexa directly. I had some left over devices that I used to get Alexa to monitor the activation of either smoke or CO through Smart Life app and Yolink to set off a siren. Alexa would speak through-out the house and turn on all bedroom lights. I will now sit back and see how these detectors hold up. The display is not as detailed as in the pictures. It takes nine (9) minutes for the unit to reset and the Smart Life app to return to normal. You can silence the alarm on the detector with the app, but you cannot perform a test with the app. That is done by pushing the button on the detector itself. I used can smoke to test my detectors. ... show more

  • So far, so good
Style: 1-Pack(Wi-Fi Linked)
All of our smoke detectors are 20+ years old. It was time to replace them. The price was right. Having both CO and smoke detector in one is a plus. Having smart home functionality is another benefit. Scores on all fronts. We have a large home. Eight locations with smoke detectors, and I decided to add another one of these near our furnace, since it has CO monitoring. I initially ordered six. Everything installed quickly and easily. Came back, and ordered the last three. I also like that these use CR123 batteries - like my eufy deadbolt. I can order 12 packs and have a replacement set for everything. Now, if we're not home and get a smoke alarm alert, I can check our cameras and see if there is a fire and need to call fire department. ... show more

  • App works but not with Alexa
Style: 1-Pack(Wi-Fi Linked)
Great detector. The integration to Alexa is a failure. They want me to install "Yale" on my phone to do the integration. "Yale" does not recognize this detector and after multiple attempts, I gave up until a time I could sit down and analyze the problem with the app. I should not have to call a tech support to do an Alexa integration. To date, I have integrated everything in my house from lights to cameras to washer and dryer and even my TV and air fryer, all without issue. They make this far to complicated. ... show more

  • Working Ok
Style: 1-Pack(Wi-Fi Linked)
There are two apps you can use with this alarm the "Tuya Smart app" and the "Smart Life app". I installed the Smart Life. I have just installed it and I had no problems pairing it to the app and my Wifi. Pressing the test button sounds the alarm and immediately sends a notification to my phone. Even though I added the Smart Life app to Alexa, it does not show un under my devices. I may try with the other app. Overall, seems to be working ok and I like the option that it will alert me if anything happens while I am away. ... show more

  • So many false smoke alarms
Style: 3-Pack(Wi-Fi Linked)
Easy to setup and install. They are very loud! You can silence them with your phone but it doesn’t help if it keeps detecting smoke. 2/3 were fairly close together yet only one was “detecting” smoke. Kept silencing but it kept going off. 2 of the 3 are currently disabled because of false alarms and I have little faith in the 3rd one. I can’t imagine what could be triggering them. Burning toast would always trigger my previous Kidde alarms, but with my new smart alarm in the same location, burnt toast does not even register. Legit smoke=no alarm. No smoke=repeated false alarms. I don’t get it! ... show more

  • Works as advertised
Style: 1-Pack(Wi-Fi Linked)
Works. Some people said it didn't work with the car exhaust test, so I tried it. It took about a minute under the exhaust pipe to register, then I got 850ppm with the alarm and wifi alert. I guess it takes a little bit for the gas to get into the sensors, as it took about a minute or two in fresh air for it to go back down to 0ppm. Worked as intended. Had no issue adding to the Wi-Fi, and yes, almost all wifi devices and sensors operate on the 2.4g, not 5g (2.4g has longer range). ... show more

  • Good but, does not read accurately below 30ppm
Style: 1-Pack(Wi-Fi Linked)
Overall I believe it is a good product. I like that I have a digital read out of ppm. Nice to be able to use app to monitor. And can't go wrong for the price. It does show levels that are considered dangerous but on lower end does not report properly, which can be problematic in catching a problem before it becomes more serious. I attached a pic of multiple AegisLink Smoke/CO detectors reading at 0ppm and another more sensitive CO sensor showing 26ppm. These are some stats that can show some concern for long term exposure: - 0-9 ppm CO: no health risk; normal CO levels in air. - 10-29 ppm CO: problems over long-term exposure; chronic problems such as headaches, nausea - 30-35 ppm CO: flu-like symptoms begin to develop, especially among the young and the elderly. - 36-99 ppm CO: flu-like symptoms among all; nausea, headaches, fatigue or drowsiness, vomiting. - 100+ ppm CO: severe symptoms; confusion, intense headaches; ultimately brain damage, coma, and/or death, especially at levels 300-400+ ppm The WHO recommended limits are: - 9-10 ppm for no more than 8 hours - 25-35 ppm for no more than 1 hour - 90-100 ppm for no more than 15 minutes In these cases if there is a constant CO level of 26ppm as in the attached pic, it could cause some health problems and these detectors would not necessarily show any CO in the air. To be fair, I do not believe this issue is only related to AegisLink but in general many of the CO detectors on the market fall into this category. It is just something to be wary about. The other less important negative was that one battery came dead out of the package. Not a huge deal, but not the 10year life span as promised. I will need to monitor all of the sensors to ensure others do not have similar problems. Although they do come with a notification when battery life is ending which is a nice feature to make sure you are aware they need to be replaced. Overall I like the product, and would probably buy again, but just be cautious about the readings. ... show more
