  • Great first impression!
Capacity: 1TB
I just got the product and hooked it up yesterday after about a month I plan on revisiting and updating this review so far it works amazingly I got it because my laptop ssd is full at 489GB and I couldn’t continue to update games such as ark survival evolved. This I looked out into a portable Ssd with a good amount of space that was also priced fairly and I have to say this hits the nail on the head after running a few tests it turns out my laptops own internal ssd is only marginally better in terms of read and write speeds so I figured I may see a drop in performance when I moved some of my larger games (fallout 4 heavily modded, ark survival evolved) but after finally transferring the entire download size and running both games for a few hours I’m extremely impressed I have actually seen absolutely no fps drops or throttling in either game. I mean I only have Nitro 5 gaming laptop so I’m assuming someone with some huge money pit of a tower gaming rig may see far more performance drop simply due to higher end components but in terms of laptop gaming for a mid priced ($1,499) laptop it’s very easily on par. As promised after rigorous testing and use it works amazingly I moved most of my game folder onto the external SSD and have it plugged into a usb 3.0 connector, I have experienced zero latency even in game as fast paced as titanfall 2, or battlefield. Great purchase extremely glad with this purchase. ... show more

  • Good drive
Capacity: 1TB
So I was reading a lot of reviews and people say that the speeds are slower than advertised. If you switch to a better cable you'll get better results. The included cable is generic and doesn't allow the higher speed transfers. I tried one of my own cables that is a bit better quality and it was faster. I don't remember the speeds but I did notice an improvement. I've had no issues with it failing but I've used it as an external drive connected to my PlayStation 5 to store games. Playing the PlayStation 4 games off this drive is quick and easy as is transferring the games back and forth. ... show more

  • Cool lights, requires powered hub for notebooks
Capacity: 1TB
The lights are cool. And it is fast. Solved a problem with large 4k movies that would hang on playback with my platter drive. My d/l speeds seem to have increased a little as well. Requires a powered USB 3.0 hub. The drive gets pretty warm when plugged directly into my notebook without using a powered hub and hangs and disconnects after 30 minutes during a lengthy download. Also notebook will not shut down or restart until I unplug it. Problem goes away when plugged in a powered hub or directly into a desktop PC or larger gaming laptop. So if your having problems, try a powered hub. The RGB LED lighting may be cool for gaming but can be distracting and annoying when watching a quiet movie in a dark room at night. Lighting should be dimmable or have the option to turn it off. I just cover the drive with my phone for now. Overall highly recommended. Will order more on prime day. ... show more

  • Liking it so far...
Capacity: 1TB
I purchased this a while ago and just didn't get motivated to learn how to use it until recently. My HP Pavilion gaming laptop started to bog down with the games I was playing so I broke this out and started using it. Working really well so far. Only small complaint I have is the length of the USB C cord that comes with it is a bit to small for me to position it out of the way but I am sure that is easily replaceable. ... show more

  • Unusable
Capacity: 1TB
This has been unusable for me due to connection issues. It takes several tries for it to connect to my PC, blu-ray player, and PS4. When it does connect to my PC, it is nearly impossible to eject. I just keep getting the message that it is in use even when I close every potentially related program, folder or process. If I just shutdown my computer and remove it, it is inoperable when I move it to another device. I rely on luck to get it to work. I've spent many hours looking for a solution to this with no luck. When I've used it on my PS4, it connects ok, but will randomly disconnect making downloaded games unusable. This leads to the PS4 repairing the drive, sometimes retaining the data and sometimes not. With the Blu-ray player it will only connect occasionally. If you don't have the same connection issues, it may be a good drive because it is at least fast. One last problem is the light up screen on one side. This is incredibly annoying and unnecessary. I always face the light up side down, but depending on the orientation of the USB input this may be difficult. Luckily, this just stopped working eventually. ... show more

  • Very Pleased
Capacity: 1TB
This little guy packs a punch and looks very sleek while doing so. Small, fast, gets warm/hot under constant use but the temp has not gon past what the enclosure can dissipate. I should have gotten the 2 TB like I started to do. Note* I did see a speed increase/difference when I switched from the included cables and used my own so that leads me to believe the included cables are generic which is not a big issue for me. ... show more

  • Waste of money
Capacity: 1TB
When I plugged it in my surface pro couldn't recognize the device. Then I plugged it into my tower and it was finally recognized. I reformated it and put a bunch of steam games on there. After safely removing the hard drive and unplugging it I put it back onto my surface pro. It then recognized it. Safely unplugging (same way as from the tower) I then packed it away for a trip. Got to my destination and it was again not able to be read. I threw the box away on accident otherwise I'd return this as a defective product. Save your money and buy a different brand. ... show more
