Description

The Ecuador pa-3000 plastic access panel is designed to provide easy access to walls and ceilings. The high impact styrene plastic with U.V. Stabilizers will not fade or corrode. The panel is completely removable from the frame and fits tightly with snap latches. The white finish, with textured exposed surfaces, can be left as is or painted to match the surrounding areas. This panel is easy to install by applying caulking adhesive to the back of the frame and pressing into place.

My downstairs neighbor complained of a slow leak coming from my shower. I had a plumber check and was told they have to cut through my neighbor's shower ceiling. Since plumbers charge around $150 per hour and upwards, I decided to hire a handyman to do the cutting through and bought this so that future plumbing issues can be checked easily by opening the access panel. This panel was lightweight, looked and felt sturdy, and the handyman took a few minutes to install (after cutting the ceiling material, of course--- that actually took the bulk of the time). Much better quality than the piece of junk I got at Home Depot. If you view the picture you’ll notice the screws in the corners, those were added by me to reduce the chance of the unit unsticking from the wall. The manufacturer suggested mounting it with silicone, I found that does seem a bit weak so I added 1 inch by quarter inch screws with the washer on the backside to ensure strength in mounting, after painting it looks just fine. ... show more

I bought this to replace a similar type of panel that was held together by spring tension. It kept falling (from our ceiling) and was a nuisance. This one has done the job excellently. I followed the instructions and used a caulk gun with an adhesive and had it up within 5 min. After allowing it time to cure, I inspected it and it's solidly in there. I am happy. ... show more

    • Why didn’t I know these things existed sooner?
I created a thru the wall access to the back side of a dryer vent. Easy to do and the very first time in forty years that I actually got that vent properly installed with no air leakage. I painted it to match the wall and it just disappears. I like the peace of mind I have that I can just open that door and access what has always been a real pain to deal with... love it.
