We have previously used the smaller mat 36" x 78" for the treadmill, but this is well made, very plush, a nice weight and much larger than anything we've seen.     • Great mat but storage strap stitching came undone.

This product comes with 2 storage velcro straps that allow the mat to remain rolled up. Well, I'm down to one: stitching came undone so is now unusable. This was after a week of rolling up the mat. This is a great mat. I bought it to create an exercise corner in my room and it’s perfect for that. I use the mat by itself for certain workouts and lay a yoga mat over it for others. The black mat stands up to shoes but would not work for barefoot or barehands purposes because it would be too slippery with sweat. I did put on my barre socks once when I didn’t want to wear sneakers and that worked well, too. I bought it to define a space and give cushioning under my yoga mat and I’ve been happy with my choice. You could also put a stationary bike or weight bench on it but it would almost certainly leave deep marks. The mat isn’t particularly cushiony but I didn’t really expect it to be. As for keeping it clean, it shows every shoe print, but it’s super easy to wipe/vacuum up. I spent hours looking at large workout mats before choosing this one and it checks all the boxes for me. It is spacious and doesn’t slide around on hardwoods. It didn’t smell at all when it arrived and rolled flat right away. A solid purchase. ... show more

I had been using a yoga mat for my Insanity and HIIT workouts, but the yoga mat was starting to lose its grip. Three weeks of using the ActiveGear mats and I'm loving it! The cushion it provides isn't overly thick and soft but enough to protect your joints. The mat itself is heavy and does not slide around when doing any burst movements. The best part is the surface area; having a uniform ground when performing my movements keeps me focused without worrying about tripping or having to get back to the mat. The only issues I've noticed so far in my three weeks of usage is that the black mat streaks easily when using shoes on it, so clean often. Also I notice some small flakes coming off on my hands, but it hasn't developed into a problem yet, will update if it does. Finally as a last tip, the mat is heavy to roll, so I learned to slide the velcro straps underneath the unrolled mat, then roll the mat up from the other side towards the straps. Then you can just wrap the straps up and makes storage a lot easier. ... show more
