"Where's the monomer?" was the first thing my teenage daughter said to me when she opened this kit. I had no idea what she was talking about. My brain immediately went back to my college chemistry classes as I tried to understand her question. She looked at me like I should ***KNOW*** what monomer was and why she should need it... but ultimately I had to ask, "What is monomer?" I was then informed that monomer is the stuff that turns the stuff in this kit into hardened acrylic nails, and without it the kit was useless. She then told me that monomer was very expensive and that I should immediately buy her some. Whatever. Notes- - My daughter really liked the colors in the set. She said that the powders were high quality... they just lacked a certain monomer to make them useful. - She was happy with the tools, top coat, Ultra prep, and ultra bond, but she would need monomer to use them effectively. ... show more

If you have been thinking about doing your own acrylic nails and didn't know where to start, this kit might be an option for you. It basically includes everything that you need in order to get started doing your own nails.A lot of the kits like this are not the great quality but I will have to say this one is definitely above average in terms of quality. Everything worked as well or better than I expected it to and came out looking great. Only downside to this kit is that it is on the pricey side.
