  • DID NOT FIT MY 2007 CEHVY TAHOE . PLEASE MAKE SURE IF ITS A THREE BOLT OR TWO BOLT .
Product is good , it just does not fit my 2007 Chevy Tahoe flex fuel . I went by what it suggested without looking for the third hidden bolt on the bottom left . All around it just to small for the bolt pattern even with the two .

  • Some bearing play but spring is tight
I had an intermittent squealing noise. So I changed idler, the AC belt and tensioner, the alternator, and the belt... all with ACDelco brand. The alternator, the idler, and the AC tensioner all had bad bearings. After changing all those parts, it still squealed when cold (winter temps). I checked all other wheels and bearings and nothing else felt suspicious or rough. I eventually narrowed the noise down to something with the belt and not worn out pulley bearings because spraying the belt with water make the noise go away. I washed and degreased all the pulleys too. Still squealed. Either there is a pulley misalignment or something else causing intermittent belt slip. Finally, I changed this belt tensioner. I saved it for last since it was already changed about 8 years ago (maybe 35k miles?) with an ACDelco purchased from the dealer. I think the squealing is finally gone. Apparently belt squeal is a real common issue on these Silverados and there are a ton of online videos that talk about pulley bearings, pulley alignment, belt contamination, brand of belt, etc. I was misled by one video where they showed some side-to-side wiggle in this tensioner wheel and specifically stated that was the reason it was bad. Well, come to find out either all off-the-shelf tensioners are bad or the mechanic in the video was wrong. My bet, mechanic was wrong. So far, I've examined my original ACDelco, this new ACDelco, a new ACDelco pulley wheel by itself, and a Gates brand tensioner - ALL FOUR have the same amount of wiggle in the pulley wheel bearing. What's the difference with this new one? Why did my squeal go away finally? It seems like the spring tension in this new one is a lot greater than the one I was using. Even though there were low miles and good bearings in the pulley, it was just maybe too old and not holding the belt properly. Tighter spring means tighter belt, which means less slip => less noise. ... show more

  • Great OEM product. Great price. Easy installation. But take note of a few things...
The media could not be loaded. Direct OEM replacement for my 2008 Yukon Denali with 126K miles. Unlike most reviews for this product, my original tensioner is the two-bolt version. What's interesting is that Amazon also sells the three-bolt tensioner and in those reviews several buyers state they needed this version. Tip #1 -- Lift your hood and do a visual check before ordering. BOTH versions are available. Lucky for me, enough people must make this mistake because several of these "Like-New" are available through Amazon Warehouse Deals. I picked mine up for $26 and it arrived "Like New..." clearly a return from an incorrect order! This item was perfect for my vehicle and very easy to install using 15mm socket on 3/8 ratchet with short extension. No need to remove air intake hoses or anything else. I just reached underneath and there was enough room to swing the ratchet. Tip #2 -- When releasing tension from belt, push down on ratchet with handle starting at 3 o'clock position to allow the ratchet handle enough room to swing back after tension is released, as pulley springs back fully to its original position. I've included a pic that shows old and new item, identical. Also, I've included a video to show the difference in my old "working" tensioner and the new one. Notice how freely the old one spins. With volume up, you can hear a little grit in the sound. Both symptoms indicate wear of the bearings. Compare to the new one, also in the video, which doesn't spin so freely. That's a GOOD thing because they are new bearings. Bottom line: Great OEM product. Incredible price. Big win over the dealer price. ... show more

  • This fit my 05 GMC Serra 5.3
This fit my 05 GMC Sierra 5.3 perfectly. It takes the place of the three bolt pattern tensioner pulley, you just leave the bottom bolt out that is no longer needed.

  • Did not fit my model 2007 Chev Suburban LT 1500 4WD 5.3 Flex Fuel
Did not fit my model 2007 Chev Suburban LT 1500 4WD 5.3 Flex Fuel. My engine required a 3-bolt bracket. This mount was a 2-bolt. I ended up taking the pully off of the tensioner and installing it on my existing bracket.
