My dog seems to like it. I like the idea of it being human grade fresh and raw ingredients. And that it is freeze dried instead heated like commercial dogfood is which minimizes the nutrients with the high heat.

My boy broke out in bumps all over his body after being recommended to switch to Purina. We did and the quality wasn’t great for my boys needs. He broke out in the bumps. After doing some research, I found Acana and I’m so glad I did! His fur is all clear and he’s back to being shiny as ever! My dog really seemed to like these little bites in this small breed formula food. He also seemed to really like the flavor, it was probably the egg, because he loved when he gets my leftovers. I liked that it is made of good ingredients, like those cage-free eggs and while grains that are high in fiber to keep him regular. All those things together made for him to be a happy pup while he was eating this food. I just could do with a better price point. ... show more

I like quality of this dog food. My dog enjoys it with a 1/2 cup yogurt and a handful of shredded chicken and whole carrot. Keeps his tummy healthy. Good poops.

My 10 month old beagle bull was running the street when I found her. She was skin and bones, and if her bowel movements were any indication, had been surviving on garbage. I started her on RR's Bright Puppy, because it was readily available at the grocery store, and while that helped her gain weight, her tummy was a mess, her stool was consistently soft, and once she was out of starvation mode, she really didn't care to eat that food anymore. It also gave her breath and bowel movements a weird, metallic odor. After doing some research, I switched to the Acana Rescue Care and WOW the difference. She loves this food and gobbles it down. She's been eating it for 4 days, and already we're not having any more loose stools and there's almost no odor. We're fans! ... 2 months down the road and she's packing on muscle, her coat feels silky soft and she's maintaining a healthy weight. ... show more

Upon opening, there was a strong odor. Not rancid, but not nice. So I store it in the freezer, just keeping a week's worth in a glass jar on the counter. Won't buy again.
