The food seems fine. Smells good to me but I have the pickiest dog on the planet. For example he will turn his nose up at porterhouse if he smells a ribeye. Can’t blame the food.

I’ve been using this dog food, specifically the Chicken Turkey and Egg mixture, for about 4 years, for my two twin Labradoodle girls. I switched from Fromm after one developed an allergic reaction (skin) and another yeasty, itchy ears. I tried several different expensive brands and mixtures to no avail until Acana. I use the Acana by itself for their breakfast, and for dinner mix it half with home-made food I do in the crock pot once every week or two (olive oil, chicken, beef or turkey, veggies (sweet or white potato, spinach, green beans, etc) and sometimes rice. They eat it up for both meals. If for some reason I’m out of home made food, they’re happy to have just Acana, but I like cooking fresh food for them :) Their coats are shiny, they shed less (I know, “labradoodles don’t shed” lol yes they do, just less than Labs or other retrievers) and no yeasty feet or ears. Their skin is very healthy and doesn’t get nasty in-between grooms. Best of all no allergies, good solid poops, and very energetic dogs. They’re 9 years old and still act like puppies (but with better manners, ha) Try Acana- I think you and your dog will love it. Thanks for reading my review! ... show more

My dogs prefer eating Acana dog food. I like it because it doesn't have a lot of dust at the bottom of the bag! It is full of essential nutrients plus added vitamins that keep my 10-year old dogs acting like puppies. 🐾

My 10 year old golden retriever has loved all of your grain free & high protein food for eight years. You make top quality food that has kept him healthy for a long time. Unfortunately, in the last two years, with the enormous price increases - 25-30% higher since 2019 (undeniably a major inflation issue & a horrible economy due only to the current administration) - I can no longer afford you. We moved to 4health grain free from TSC. My boy loves it. It's a top quality product, comes in 30 lb bags, & is WAY less expensive than your product. Their non-foil packaging happens to be more environmentally conscious too. We're sad to part ways, but it's financially necessary. Bye Bye Acana ... show more

We are soooo happy we changed to this brand! Our 4 GSD love this food and they are looking and feeling great. Their coats are soft, full, and shiny. Our older dogs are getting around better and being more playful again. Their poop is looking better also, no diarrhea, mushy, stinky poops.

My pup loved the Duck & Pumpkin - so this time we tried the Lamb & Pumpkin - she still seems to be a big fan! :) I prefer the limited ingredients only because of so many things saying "peas, lentils, etcc etcc" are bad and cause DCM in Dobies....plus, I give her a lot of fresh food while I am cooking for myself. She loves almost all veggies - so she gets whatever she doesn't get in the food - from me :) I also feed her a meaty beefneck bone after her meals in the morning every other day :) Sometimes I make her irresistible beef liver treats :) Her coat is doing well on this food, and her energy is not slowing down anytime soon!
