My son wanted a bait caster but I was concerned about their easy nesting. I'm sure this is similar with all of them, but I was happy to discover that it had a brake and spool adjustment. I was able to dial everything tighter to be more forgiving for him. Solid value in my opinion for the $50 sale price. I am docking it one star due to packaging/handling. Out of the box the lower end of the rod, that inserts into the top half looks like it was chopped off by a dull lawnmower blade! Poor quality on this, my 3 rod of purchase of this exact rod and reel combo. Do better! I bought NEW, not slight used.
