The product came late, but it was packed well. The box itself wasn't that heavy--the delivery person lifted it by himself. I'm not as quick so my wife helped me carry it to the backyard. Assembly was easy and can be done by one person. The frame with just the poles didn't look that sturdy, but after adding on the "dome" frame, it was stronger. The instructions aren't great and are simply pictures; there aren't that many nuts and bolts to attach. The canopy fabric didn't really need the tool they provided to help stretch it. They redesigned the longer frame ends so that you could put the canopy fabric on first, then switch (by pressing in a spring-loaded button and pulling the end cap) to a longer setting to set each end. I have no idea how to put on the corner leg fabrics, so I just hung them up--they look like they may be on the wrong side to me. So far it stands sturdily against the 5-10 mph drafts we are seeing in Sacramento. Time will tell how it holds up to stronger wind and rain. ... show more

It took my husband several hours to assemble this gazebo but it looks beautiful now that it’s up and has really changed the space, giving it a nice and relaxing vibe. It’s held up well so far to strong winds and rain, however we did notice a bit of rust already starting to form in a few places on the frame. When we take the canopy down for the winter we are going to clean off all the rust spots and coat the entire frame with a couple layers of protectant spray to prevent this from happening again. The canopy is water resistant already, but we sprayed it with waterproofing spray just to be sure before putting it up and haven’t seen any water come through at all, not even after a driving rain. If you are investing in this model, I’d suggest applying an outdoor rust protectant to all the metal parts before you assemble it and then do a touch up over any areas you may not have gotten well after you put it up. Personally I also use a waterproof and sun protectant spray (the kind you get for tents) on the canopy or any patio umbrellas we get, and I think it’s helped them last a little longer. I’d suggest just looking over the metal canopy frame and giving it a fresh protective coating before winter, then every spring touch it up again and wash and re-coat your canopy top with waterproofing spray before you put it up for the season ... show more

Easy to understand set up instructions. I painted all the metal parts before installation hoping to make the frame last a long time. I hope there are replacement covers available for use in the future. Overall a nice canopy.

I bought this canopy for my backyard deck, as a replacement for the pop-up canopy we had been using. When it arrived, I was impressed with how well it was packaged, and the material for the canopy’s roof was much sturdier than I expected, so I was looking forward to building and using this canopy. Then I actually started building it. The instructions were simple, and I thought it would go up nicely, but then I ran into a problem: one of the pieces broke (a plate that was welded on the end of one of the side roof supports snapped off). Well, fudge, I thought. I contacted the seller directly to ask about a replacement part. They first asked if I knew someone who could weld the plate back on. I replied that I didn’t. (Frankly, if I knew a welder, I would probably have just hired him to build me a sturdier canopy from the get-go.) They next offered to send me a replacement for the broken part if I would pay $50 for the shipping. I replied that I had already paid for their product and had it shipped, so I was not interested in paying more. Their third offer was to send me a (smaller) replacement canopy if I would pay $60. So, I replied, you want me to pay a total of $450 for a canopy that lists on Amazon for $330? That does not sound like a bargain to me, so I declined that offer, too. In the interest of saving time (each round of this discussion took 24 hours—I would communicate during the day, and they would respond overnight), I told them that there were three options that would satisfy me: 1) send a replacement part at no charge, 2) send a replacement canopy and I will return the faulty canopy, again at no charge, or 3) I send the canopy back to Amazon for a full refund and leave a product review explaining why. You are reading the review, so you know how that offer went. It’s just as well. As I was disassembling the parts I had assembled in order to ship it back to Amazon, two other side supports had the same metal plates snap off. Great price, great value. We move every two years. Usually, we consider gazebos disposable because they fade, dry-rot, rust, or are a general pain to disassemble and reassemble. Our lucky neighbor gets the faded, torn remnants at the end of our assignment, if they want it. Not this time. We were able to use it for two years, store it for half a year, and reassemble it without any issues. Highly recommend! Tips: * Watched the video on how to get the corners in the soft cover pockets without tearing the material. Very helpful. Basically, go to the center and push in the pin to move the metal arm in a quarter inch or so. This gives slack needed. * We put the legs in cinder blocks and fill with pea gravel. This eliminates bulky sandbags and leaves a hole open to put potted plants/cigar butts/etc. Been through hurricanes without issue. * Christmas lights around the edges and a hanging centerpiece (flowers/candelabra) are just what this gazebo needs.
