I've tried this antenna on a Baofeng UV5R and a UV5GPlus. Both definitely had some improved Tx and Rx over their stock antennas. It's not a gigantic difference but I could definitely tell the improvement in strength.

The range of the antenna is amazing. I was doing a field training exercise for airsoft and used this antenna on a wooded mountain. It was amazing at keeping a signal with no static for those receiving and for me receiving. The antenna can take a beating. I got it caught a few times on tree limbs where it bent and it stays as strong as ever and with the fact that it’s flexible you can compact it down to be smaller if needed. I bought this for an AR-152, and I am very happy with it. This antenna replaced my AR-152's already excellent 9-inch OEM antenna as its everyday antenna, and others have commented back to me a definite increase in range and quality with this antenna. I use my baofeng Uv5r for airsoft. Today at a game sometime during the day the antenna snapped off. Must have got caught on something when I was running around. But I am surprised that the metal part snapped. Pretty disappointed. I wear is on a molle pouch on the back of my battle belt. Great antenna for light duty but not durable enough for the weekend warrior. ... show more
