Antenna seemed nice enough, but the base is too wide to fit in the recessed socket of the Baofeng GMRS-9R. The threads for the antenna will not fully engage. This problem would be shared with the UV-9R series.

Product works great. Helped a little with clarity in local reception (about 2.5 miles between users with no repeater). Only downside is it seems to take on more interference in the car than the factory antenna. Still great for backpacking when outside and compact range is needed.

Picture pretty much says it all. This antenna has a horrible SWR for GMRS frequencies (4.75 as tested) and will likely damage your radio. If you do decide to buy rubberized tape measures for antennae, make sure you test them before extended use.
