  • Fixed the problem
AO Smith FCV-40-100 38 gal water heater. Pilot light kept going out after some period of time. Checked the thermocouple, & tried cleaning the pilot gas tube, but no luck. This part fit, and works. No problems since. Pretty easy to install with a couple of wrenches. Yay.

  • worked perfectly with my water heater
Great product! Was easy to install and worked perfectly with my water heater. It restored functionality right away, and the quality feels solid. Shipping was fast, and the price was very reasonable. Highly recommend for anyone needing a quick replacement!"

  • Bad TCD
My water heater pilot light wouldn’t stay lit. I installed this product and the water heater would light and operate for 5 minutes. Then it would shut off. I bought a control valve next. Installed the control valve and got the same result. I found another pilot assembly at local hardware store. Removed this one and installed new one from hardware store. Water heater works perfect now. Then I see this junk part is not returnable. ... show more

  • Form fit, and that it works.
The form fit on it was very good. You just have to look at the product photos compared to the ones that you have before you order it. I think it's good quality. Very happy with it. If the leads are a little too long you just have to Circle them one time on the outside of the water heater. Not a big deal. Would definitely buy again. ... show more

  • 9003542 Pilot Assembly
Installed this assembly on an AO Smith XCV 50 100 water heater to resolve thermo coupler issue causing NO HOT WATER. This part fit perfectly other than tubing being a little longer than the original part. I was able to gently bend the tubing careful not to kink it when installing. Turned on pilot light with igniter and after moving control switch to ON the burner ignited and 20 minutes later HOT water. Some comments say part only lasted a few weeks, only just installed part but I will update if/when issues are encountered. ... show more

  • In a clutch
With this part saved myself $300 by doing the install myself. Plus, kept the wife off of my back by fixing the water heater. She thinks I used the money saved on her for our anniversary. NOPE! Used that $300 on myself. I’m the one that did the work. All she did was complain that there wasn’t any hot water. She contributed nothing to this. ... show more

  • Exactly
I wanted to replace the thermocouples myself . I had watched the repair man do it and thought I can do this. This one is exactly like my old one. Watched a video just to make sure and TaDa. Worked great. Hot water yeah!
