This is really one of the best, most versatile balls I've ever owned. Throwing on house shot I bump it up to 3000 grit, but for long sport shots, it's such a strong ball out handles 500 - 1000 grit really well. I'm getting more revs lately so I may start leaving it at 2000 (box finish). I just got a Nova that's just a beast so it may start being my fresh oil ball and this will become my go to transition ball. But it's that versatility that makes it so great.
