I first bought a small rug to see what the colors looked like. Based on that one (brown) I bought the larger 9X12. They are completely different brown tones - the larger one is more of a dark chocolate and the small one has browns closer to milk chocolate.

This small rug and a larger rug were ordered at same time from same company. Smaller rug has a much lighter blue color than larger one. Am keeping it as I don't want to bother with a return and there's no guarantee the new one would match. Not a deal breaker for me. The rug is soft, nice design.
