I sketch to relax and bought this set 2 years ago. Love it because it opens up and all my supplies are in front of me, including an easel. I like being able to quickly glance between the page and the available colors as I work. I do not have to step around, bend around, turn around, or need a table to set out any of my supplies. I do not need additional space to accommodate my easel. I discovered it is heavy enough to be stable while sitting in my bed and the easel presents at the perfect height. I fired up a Regency romance on Audible and sketched away for a few hours. It was such a great afternoon, I wanted to leave a review to share my experience with this set. I use it the most of my options. I also own the wooden style natural wood case with the lid that opens to become the easel. The drawers open on the opposite side of the easel. Unless I have a space to lay out the drawer contents I am stepping back and forth or turning it when I change colors. I have a table top easel and the dark wooden box with the markers in the lid, acrylics, pencils, ect set with the 2 drawers. I must have table space to spread out for that option. I have a handful of different sizes of the black zippered pencil cases with the shoulder strap, I use for outdoor use. If you are considering purchasing something in one of these wooden box styles, pay attention to the design and function of the case and easel. Art supplies can be upgraded. Wood can be painted and repaired. I only use this at home. It arrived in perfect condition and I upgraded the pencils. I like having the options of the paints. It is the most efficient design of the ones I own. The quality of the supplies is fine for starting out, and can be upgraded to the user's preference. I think it is good value for the money because of the variety of the supplies and that it includes in the cost, an easel. I think it has the best functional design of the wooden art supply kits in this category because of the layout of the supplies in reference to the placement of the easel. If you are looking for a starter or all in one kit, this has everything you need but the paper and canvas. You will get a lot of mileage out of this kit as you learn the style and supplies you prefer. I highly recommend. ... show more

I bought two of these and I had to replace one because some hardware was broken. The oil pastels are actually crayons. The media could not be loaded. Yes, I am getting a refund. That's the only good thing about this purchase. I can't believe the seller would even try to sell this item like this. It's cracked in almost every corner, the wood is coming apart, and cracked. There's like a black film all over it, so the pink looks dirty. The paint brushes look like they've been used, and just look strange. They need better packaging because all the pencils fell out during shipping which also left marks all over the pink wood. The pencils look liked they have been used. This is the first time I've ever received a product from Amazon damaged, and you can tell it was damaged PRIOR TO SHIPPING. If you are on edge about getting this. DON'T. It also has like mildew/mold on it. Has a funny smell too. The quality of the products is like the lowest grade you can buy. I promise y'all. Whether you are a kid or an aspiring artist, this set is wonderful. It contains an array of supplies from paint and pencils to pads of paper. I am interested in becoming an artist. This requires lots of practice. I don't want to be using top-of-the-line materials or supplies for my practice sessions. I want to save my best materials for finished projects. This set allows me to do this and explore other things, (like acrylics and pastels, that I've never tried before) without the deep investment. Also, this set comes in a very nice, well-made box with built in easel. Once these supplies have been used up, I can convert this box to an outdoor (plein aire) travel kit as it comes with a very nice attached handle. My only complaint is that the box isn't sealed with a varnish or formica veneer. Other than this, I can highly recommend this art set for anyone interested in art. ๐Ÿ‘Œ ๐Ÿ˜ƒ ... show more

Bought these for a gift for my nephew heโ€™s pretty good artist. He really liked it had a big smile on his face when he opened the package so hopefully it last a long time form or at least for at least till his next birthday the woods, a little case, you know it kinda you can tell itโ€™s cheaply made, but I like the design. I might decide to make one myself out really good wood and take my time and make a better case for him Than that good job ... show more
