I sketch to relax and bought this set 2 years ago. Love it because it opens up and all my supplies are in front of me, including an easel. I like being able to quickly glance between the page and the available colors as I work. I do not have to step around, bend around, turn around, or need a table to set out any of my supplies. I do not need additional space to accommodate my easel. I discovered it is heavy enough to be stable while sitting in my bed and the easel presents at the perfect height. I fired up a Regency romance on Audible and sketched away for a few hours. It was such a great afternoon, I wanted to leave a review to share my experience with this set. I use it the most of my options. If you are considering purchasing something in one of these wooden box/sketch box styles, pay attention to the design and function of the case and easel. Consider if it will be used indoor, outdoor or both. Art supplies can be upgraded. Wood can be painted and repaired. It arrived in perfect condition and I upgraded the pencils. The quality of the supplies is fine for starting out. If you are looking for a starter or all in one kit, this has everything you need but the paper and canvas. This is very sturdy, and filled with great art supplies for beginners. Only down side its a bit difficult to close the top without everything falling out of place. I ordered this last week & when I opened it, a knob on it was broken. I returned it & requested a new one be shipped to me. The new one was delivered inna very timely manner & was even properly packaged to prevent any damage. This set is going to be awesome and I know my cousin is going to love it. We received this item and the paint on the box had a grit texture to it. the easel inside had come out with the screws, the drawers do not latch so be careful how you tote it. We did return it and they gave us a refund quickly so there was no problem with that. It was just how received it and the quality of the box is why I put it at one star. ... show more

The first order was cracked, scratched, missing screws, and a knob. This item was tightly sealed in plastic , knowing that something was clearly missing. The replacement was in perfect condition!!

The easel is too small . The drawer knob is missing making it difficulty open box . The quality of the pencils very poor and oil pastels very poor quality. Not suitable for a experienced artist.
