Came in a box- previous reviews said it came in a bag. Yes it was a little smaller than I'd thought originally but honestly it's perfect for my teething 5 month old. I thought I found a nice soft toy that would be easy to wash...it holds water because there is a small hole on the bottom of each and it's hollow. I'm going to look for the type that has the pole up the middle so it won't matter if the piece is upside down or not for stacking. Early babies don't get that so fast. You want to make use of the toy early and you want it clean before use. Not just wiped down with a half dry cloth. UPDATE: This company has very good customer service.
