The paper has a nice feel and texture, but it is thinner than I expected. I plan to use this for business correspondence where it is important my letters stand out. I do not like that the paper has a watermark that says "100% COTTON HIGHTECH".

When I saw this, I got excited. This paper looked like the perfect way to combine artwork and printer paper. TEXTURE This paper is amazing. It is thin like velum, but it has fiber in it similar to the paper money in the US. The one side is very smooth. The other side has a rough sort of texture like US dollar money has. WATERCOLOR This paper is fantastic for doing watercolor on. What I got this for was to do watercolor pencils on. I found in the meanwhile that doing washes on this paper works beautifully- you just have to tape the edges down while it dries. SOAKING THROUGH You might be wondering how I plan to do this. If I am going to print on this, I will use laser printers to do it. Then after printing, I will do a design with watercolor pencils or even watercolor paints. The ink won't move and the watercolor will react well to the paper. It is a really fantastic way to combine creativity and fine arts with business side of printing. I did not find that the water soaks through the other side if it is not overburdened with heavy water based washes. I took a photo to show you of the water activated pencils and then the back after quite a bit of water on the pencils. You can hardly see it soak through the back. WASHES This also will work if I take the edges of the paper down and do light watercolor washes on it. Then I will let it dry so it will remain flat. Once that happens, I can print on it if the paint load is not heavy. BASIC PRINTING Of course basic printing is going to work well on this. It will look somewhat thin, but it will look classy and stand out if handled right. THE BOTTOM LINE This is delightful paper. I am going to get a lot of use out of this combining watercolor, colored pencils, and conventional printing. I can also use pen and ink, but wanted to comment on the printing capabilities. MY RATING FIVE STARS. This really opens up possibilities for me as an artist. I am VERY excited about this paper. I love that I can do my artwork and combine it with printing vs hand lettering (which I can also do) if I want to. Highly recommended if you are like me and want a good combination paper. I can not do this type of thing on any other printer paper. PHOTOS I have photos for you of watercolor pencils using underlying texture to color on, smooth backing to color on and then water activated pencil. The next photo shows the back which is barely showing through and is still not wet even after adding water to the pencils on the front. The last photo is a close up of the texture to show you the fibers in the paper which add to the character. ... show more

The paper isn't as heavyweight as I thought it would be, but that was my mistake. This is about the same weight as typical copy paper, but feels almost like the paper that money is made out of. It's very lush? feeling, I guess would be a way to describe it. It's off-white a bit, but it will work great for printing something formal, like a resume on. My son enjoys book binding, so this is also a very nice paper to use to hand make books from. ... show more

Price during review- $19.99 Got these to put together a scrapbook of letters written over time between various family members. Wanted it to be special as it has pasted on copies of old style post cards and also emails in the recent past. This gave the whole DIY book a cohesive look. The pages print bright and retain the print without smudging. It looks good,and the quantity provided would make many more such memory books. Worth the investment for special prints. This extra resilient yet thin paper has a pleasant natural texture on one side and a standard smooth texture on the other. The color is just what you'd expect linen paper to be - an ivory wheat color, and the whole impression is of an earthy, natural paper that lends an antiqued or rustic touch to letters or resumes. You can do interesting things with it, since it isn't damaged by water because it's cloth paper. Besides painting on it, you can get an interesting texture like that of ink wash paper by wetting and crushing it, then flattening it to dry. It's utterly different because of its almost indestrictible durability, yet it does whatever you'd want regular paper to do. ... show more
