  • Get OFF the Fence and GET this lens!!!
I was back and forth over this and the Sony lens. This is SHARP (zoomed all the way out) and fast. Finally, getting those shots I've always wanted at my son's football games… other camera guy at the game has a Sony camera with the large white Sony lens… my set up looks better with the all black lens and camera… caught him looking a few times 😎 I'm always trying to trip it up but it I can't. Taking pictures of planes just passing over my house… was shocked at the details it picked up. I just take pictures of random things just to see what it looks like afterwards. Low-light pics are also excellent! You won't regret it. I told myself I will just try it and probably return it because it was just outside of my budget even though it is affordable compared to a lot of other options. Guys, you REALLY get what you pay for. This ain't going nowhere. ... show more

  • $1,300 less than the Sony 70-200 GM2
I'll start off with that if you have money to burn, Sony glass is always the best option. But this Sigma is nearly identical optically and even performs better in some categories like LOCA. The Sony does have some better ergonomics in areas, and there are definitely things you can nitpick about this lens. But for a whopping $1,300 less than the Sony option, this thing is a winner. Sigmas build quality is excellent. It is a little bit on the heavier side. You'll definitely notice when holding it up for long periods of time. But that's just the nature of telephoto lenses. It's easy to customize and use all of the buttons on the lens. Lots of options for making it work the way you need it to. If you're not convinced already, check out many of the amazing reviews on YouTube about this lens. ... show more

  • Stunning quality!
This lens is just high quality through and through. From the awesome corner to corner sharpness to the smooth precision of the focusing and zoom rings to the aperture ring with it's 1/3 stop clicks it gives nothing away to the sony lens. Sure it is a bit heavier and the balance point is very close to the camera with an un-griped body but for the quality/price ratio it an easy trade-off. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Super sharp, fast AF and worth every penny
I recently purchased this lens to replace my Tamron v1 exclusively to shoot high school basketball. Two things that I noticed right off the bat. 1 at the same aperture this lens produces brighter images than the Tamron. 2 When it comes to auto focus, this lens is a game changer.. when you half press the shutter, you could instantly see the action freeze , making it super easy to get the proper composition. This is certainly a lot heavier than my previous lens but with the image quality speed of the auto focus and image stabilization, it will be a keeper in my bag for many years to come.. ... show more

  • Must have lens for Sony Cameras
This lens is awesome. Not as heavy as some have reviewed, crystal clear photos. Loving this lens.

  • My new Love Lense
Was sceptical at first but for $1k less than the Sony I can't complain. This 70-200 does it all. Autofocus is actually faster than the Sony and there is barely any focus breathing. Only issue I have is that during zooming while sports video the focus doesn't work until you quit zooming, but then it focuses instantly. During slow zoom it keeps the focus. It's heavier than it's Sony counterpart and the Zoom ring is opposite direction than the sony one and a bit stiffer but nothing that would justify paying $1k more . I love this lens and it's my new go to lens for interviews, Family Pics, Sports Videography and Weddings. You won't regret picking this up. ... show more

  • Fantastic value for the money.
Sharper than the Sony version, but less accurate autofocus. Still fantastic value for the money. I prefer a twist on lens hood, but I can also appreciate the tactile feel of the screw tightening lens hood.
