The packaging you will receive is protected, premium, trustworthy, and backed by a warranty (similar to Microsoft). The Microsoft Charger cannot compete at this price point outside having the "Name Brand" bit that gives us a false sense of security. My other charger had broken and would only charge if I held it at a certain angle, till I just couldn't get it to work anymore. Really liked the charger, it replaced the original charger without issue. Both the charging of the Surface laptop and the secondary 5v charging port work well. However, there is a loose piece at the end of the charger where t connects with the tablet. While I have not had any connection issues, a shaking part at the critical point makes me wonder about longevity. I will update this review if there are any mishaps. ... show more

Thought this was going to be an as cheap as possible replacement. It is an inexpensive replacement. Works well. Does not overheat. Connections are good.... some i have bought had poor blades to the wall or the part that connects to the unit is off. This model is really good.
