Claims to shut off at 80 and start at 70. Mine runs constantly, maintains indoor temp in high 90s, 97, 99, etc. I use it in an out door cat house, about 3' (1 meter) square. Outside temp in the 30s. Insulated cat house has 2 doors, one is a flapper and one has plastic strips covering the opening. The only reason I bought this one was because it claimed to have automatic heat control. Cats won't use their house with the temp in the high 90s. Waste of money. ... show more

I built a cat house and I have it mounted to the top at the low temperature. I also have a temperature monitor in the cat house. It's been keeping the cat house at 70° for a couple weeks now running non-stop. I'll come back and change my review if this stops working but so far so good!

This little heater works great and puts out plenty of heat. The drawback is you have to manually turn it on and off. On milder days it gets way too hot. Would be great if you could set a temperature.

This is listed as a dog house heater, but I am using it in the outdoor bunny hutch. The hutch is two-story and actually sits off ground in a large covered chicken pen. I fenced off a little yard for the bunny to play in when not in his big hutch. We attached the heater to the back wall of the lower section of the hutch and when I cover the hutch with plastic and quilts (except for some door ventilation) their hutch will be warmer this winter.
