These hinges are thick, good quality and sturdy and they look very nice. They would serve very well on a short (possibly a walkway) door but anything larger and they just won't hold with those tiny screws. I had to use much larger lag screws to anchor them to the post. While not installed just yet I'm confident these hinges will function fine for a light to mid weight gate. It comes with some thick, course threaded screws that taper right into the hinge face making a nice flush fit. My main complaint with some hinges of this type is the pin is sometimes undersized and the hinge has some wobble to it. Not the case with these. The tolerances are nice and tight and it swings smoothly. The screws supplied are a bit short for my application, they measure about 1.5 inches. If mounting directly to the structural member of the gate and post their perfect but since I need to go through 1/2 to 3/4 inch of siding I'll be using some longer screws but have to get some that match up in size and profile. I'd use this hinge maker and size up or down depending on the need. ... show more

These babies are very heavy duty. They are exactly what I need for my project. They seem to be well built and sturdy and good quality. They come with everything you need however, I’ll probably use my own screws. I always do. With that said I’m very pleased with these hinges and now I know where to get more when the time comes. Very well made! Heavy duty and durable while still affordable! The only thing that can be better, is if you’re using these for outdoor gates that are heavier, I’d recommend switching the screws for a bigger length! 1 inch worked for my needs but I can see them being too short for other purposes

Let me explain: My community requires residents to remove the garbage, recycling and yard waste containers after pick-up. This code is strictly enforced by nosey neighbors. My containers are 45 feet down my driveway entrance visible from my living room window. I hate walking down to discover one of the containers still full. I purchased these hinges to make a Garbage Recycling Pickup Indicator (GRPI). This hinge and a powerful magnet is all that is required.
