I really like these ornament wood slices! The price is great and each slice has really nice rustic bark. One thing I didn't love was that they are very light weight, however, they aren't flimsy, but I wish they were a little heavier. However I do love how thickly they are sliced, and I love that they send the package with two rolls of twine, one roll of natural colored jute twine and one roll of white and orange twine! :-) I have been using them for my little Christmas ornament making business. These ornaments are wonderful, especially for the price! You can't beat a homemade gift for this price. I've made some for Bible study groups, teachers, pets, friends, and more. My only complaint is that some of the slices in each pack are unusable, but that's to be expected with wood. (There will always be some imperfections.) The string/twine was more than enough for the ornaments. *A couple pieces of advice - if you're painting them don't take the paint all the way to the edge. The ones I did that with cracked, but the rest were fine. (I used Dixie Belle chalk paint.) *All of the permanent vinyl I used stuck well, even if I didn't paint it. I did take a damp cloth to them to remove dust before painting/applying vinyl. Overall, I highly recommend these easy DIY ornaments! I will be purchasing again in the future! ... show more

A friend had recommended an art supply company version, but they were backordered, so I turned to Amazon. I'm not disappointed. This is my first experience with a product of this kind, but I'm very happy. The slices are uniform in thickness. A couple (maybe four?) are cracked but not so many that I'm upset by it, and they appear to be intact and usable in spite of the cracks. I'm using acrylic paint and it is working very well with good coverage. The slices do shed a little on the bark edges, but it is a natural wood piece so that's too be expected. A tap and wipe to remove any dust or bark bits works quite well. I'm very pleased with the value for the price I paid; the items were in stock and shipped very quickly and I will likely buy from this seller again. ... show more

These wood slices are great. They are mostly smooth (not sandpapered fine, but enough that you can run your finger over them without worrying about getting splinters), have bark around the outside, and are generally between 1/8” to 1/4” (3-6 cm) thick. They also come with two types of string if you desire to hang them up or use as ornaments. I’ve tried paint (acrylic), sharpie, regular markers, fine tip markers, and colored pencils on these and they all looked fantastic and ready to go on the Christmas tree. A word of warning, this is wood and any liquid based coloring tool can bleed or spread through the wood if you press too hard or put too much on. I haven’t tried any wood burning or branding, but I think it would be alright due to their smoothness and thickness. I would definitely recommend these for any projects you might have! ... show more

These came neatly packaged and I was able to make my gifts easily! I had to size down my designs slightly because the workable light brown space was just a bit smaller than I expected for this size (see top wood slice). Almost all were fantastic, rustic, and usable for my project as planned, but the last 3 will need a more solid design to cover minor blemishes (see bottom wood slice in pic). I also like there were both perfect circles and slightly imperfect/natural shapes as wood slices could naturally be either one. The pre-drilled holes were helpful and the brown twine included was appeciated. These are also lightweight but sturdy with appropriate thickness. Overall really great product and value for the cost. I just left my craft room where I was busy decoupaging photos onto these wonderful wood disks! They are a nice quality - very smooth and flat, no sanding necessary. They have been well cut and the hole is just the right size to easily run a thin ribbon through. Was super happy to be able to order these so I didn’t have to get out- recommend these to any crafter! ... show more

I ordered the smaller size to make ornaments for Christmas gifts this year. I received the correct amount, and they are real wood with holes drilled. It is real wood so sizes do vary slightly. I used this for transferring a photo onto the wood. So I used modge podge, water and a heat gun on these. No issues, at all with transfers, the surfaces are smooth so no sanding. I think 1 or 2 might have come with slight cracks though I can still use them. They come in a zipper bag, which is good because they are messy. The bark does Fleck off some pieces, but nothing noticeable. They give you twine and an orange color cord for hanging. Overall good deal, with the amount you get, very pleased ... show more
