I needed a wide angle lense for my Canon r50. I just bought the camera as my first camera. I was shocked at how much actual Canon lenses cost. 💀 I saw this little guy. I tried it. And.... it WORKS GREAT! I mostly use my camera so far for live streaming and I need to expand the view of my stream area. This works great. Honestly, never pay for a Canon brand, when this is perfect! I haven't tried the macro (up close) option on the lense yet, but I would be willing to bet its just as good ... show more

I was searching the market for a wide angle lens. I want to do more vlogging so it’s a must with the Nikon D5100. I’m currently using the standard VR 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6G. All of the lenses I found were way out of my price range. Until i saw this product. The Alturo Photo .43X WIDE ANGLE HD LENS ATTACHMENT. The delivery was pretty fast two days with my Prime account. The product is made of metal and the build is very nice. It’s very sturdy and durable. It do any feel cheap. The look of it does not match with its price. I paid 24.99 for this product and it looks more expensive than that. I’d say at least $75 The quality of the wide angle is perfect for vlogging. It does add a bit of weight to the camera as a whole when holding the unit with one hand. However a two handed photo shot should be fine. You might need a strap for this. The BONUS detachable SUPER MACRO lens was an awesome surprise. I didn’t know i needed a macro lens until i used it and saw the detail in the photos. Great addition. So that’s two lenses for $25 bucks. When i was looking to pay over $200 for one. Pretty great deal in my opinion. The only reason i did not give it 5 stars is because of the weight. And also the fact that you can’t just attach the Wide Angle lens to your lens, you have to have the Super Macro attached. But u don’t need the Wide Angle to use the Super Macro. Not sure how u would accomplish this: lessen the weight and make them both independent units. Overall, i would say get it. For $25 bucks it’s a steal. Nothing to lose with this purchase. Be aware this is a 52 mm thread to lens , not body. The macro can be taken off but will not thread without it. I installed it on a Minolta mnd30 camera, and it work amazing. Gave the camera a total upgrade and better perception. Great lens. Good packing. Ok storage pouch. Makes a medium camera ,next level . ... show more

    • A Few Major Issues

Basically you get what you pay for here. If you want a real wide angle lens you have to spend hundreds of dollars. I used this on my 18-55mm lens but it only works for 24-55mm because of vignetting (black around the edges), so I really only get 10mm of focal length instead of about 8. Also my ceiling and table appeared curved because of the "soft fisheye effect", and I was going to use this for landscape photography but don't want a curved horizon in my pictures. On the positive side the macro lens looks really good so that is like a bonus that you get, but I don't do much macro photography.
