I recently set up the 509 Crew Rocket Pedal Go Kart for my kids and their neighborhood friends to use, and overall I think everyone likes this go-kart. I don't expect that our two boys (ages 7 and 9) will get as much use from the go-kart as I expected simply due to their size and the small(ish) dimensions of the go-kart. I wish the manufacturer had a more robust description of the measurements and highlighted the intended age group more clearly on the product page. ► This Go-kart is Small: The manufacturer indicates the age range of 4-8, which is pretty accurate based on my non-scientific observations. But, even my 7-year-old has maxed out on the go-kart. Kids differ in size and shape, so if your kiddo is small, extend that age group appropriately. My 4th grader has a friend (10 years old) that is a small kid, and he fits this go-kart. Other friends, as young as 7, don't fit. ► Assembly Required: Assembling the 509 go-kart is easy, and there's only a single page of instructions (with pictures) included. It took me about 30-minutes to get the go-kart unpacked and ready for its first rider. That includes having eight boys in my garage assisting me and dying with anticipation to take the go-kart for an inaugural drive. Everything you need to assemble the kart is included in the box, right down to the tools. But, you'll have a much easier time with some basic tools of your own, such as a Philips screwdriver and socket set handy. → Seat Positions: The seat has three (3) positions possible based on the rider's size. Since my kids are older, I went with the furthest back position. The seat is held with two bolts and nuts, so it's not super convenient to swap positions and will require an adult and tools. → Stickers: A single sheet of stickers is applied to various parts of the go-kart. ► Thoughts on Quality & Materials: The frame of the 509 go-kart is made from tube metal, powder coated, and actually a lot better than I expected. My kids and many neighborhood friends have ridden this go-kart around a ton, and it still looks new. There is plenty of plastic, such as the steering wheel, seat, and components that cover the chain drive. The wheels were the most surprising component and seem to use actual rubber wheels. They glide smoothly and quietly! ► Similar Go-Karts: Another thing that became apparent as I looked around at go-karts on Amazon is that this is a generic product, not a bespoke go-kart manufacturer. If you look at this kart, scroll down to the recommended products, and you'll find the same go-kart or 99% the same; some are considerably cheaper. ... show more

This is a childhood dream of mine, I’ve wanted a peddle powered go kart for as long as I can recall, so when I saw the chance to get this for the kiddo’s I jumped on it (literally). This is very easy to assemble, and for the price point, very high quality, everything was well engineered and thought out, it feels this will last beyond our kids use. I’m a 6’ tall, 200 lbs guy, and I’ve ridden this around the driveway with ease, it my not be the most comfortable for me, but it’s doable. This go cart is such a good buy. It comes with clear instructions. I wasn’t able to assemble by myself but that was out of my nervousness, not wanting to mess this up. But, I can definitely put the second go cart together alone. Yes, there will be a second one. This is sturdy. The color is vibrant. My grandsons will enjoy this. Overall, the pedal go kart is nice, but it does run on the small side. Initially, I got this for my 6 year old daughter, however, when she tried to sit in it, it didn't work out well. We decided this would be better suited for our 4 year old, as she fits in it well. I do with there was a size chart listed for the child's sizing that it fits, instead of the general 4-8 years. I can't see an 8 year old fitting in this, unless they are very small. ... show more

This is so cool! My 7 and 8 year old are obsessed with this go kart to the point they argue over who gets to ride it first! Super easy to assemble and the instructions were easy to follow. The go kart feels very well made and the materials used are durable and sturdy. Highly recommend this go kart!

I had mixed feelings about this pedal car. Assembly was quick and easy. The body and tires are sturdy. The seat does adjust, but the seat has to be unscrewed using knobs underneath, so it's a little bit of a pain. The recommended age range for this pedal car is 4 - 8 years. My son is 6 years old and this go-kart was almost too small for him. His knees nearly hit the steering wheel. The go-kart works best on flat surfaces. On the second time my son used this, the c clip holding the pedal on broke. While it is easily replaceable, it's disappointing. Overall, I found this go-kart to be generally good quality with a very easy set up; however, it runs small. ... show more
