I got this for making a top for one of our chick brooders that will still allow air to flow in and out while keeping the chicks from flying out once they started feathering. This is very thick mesh which I wanted. I wouldn't use this if we were using a heat lamp, since it's plastic, but we use the brooder plates so that isn't a concern. This isn't exactly chicken wire--but a suitable alternative in that it's strong, durable, and can serve as a multipurpose barrier. I'm using it on the bottom of a garden gate to discourage skunks and other unwanted nocturnal critters from sneaking into my yard. So far so good.
