  • GREAT purchase. Totally worth it's weight in gold ;)
Came quick, packaged really well, been used and going strong. Thought the handles would get super hot and nope they haven't! I used them bare handed for a long time before realizing I should be smart and put some gloves on. But still really happy with the value of the product. Well worth the cheap price. The graphite stir stick is super long like a foot or more. The amount of borax flux you get is great too! I was able to glaze the entire huge 500g curcible and I did way too much to be honest and I still have a LOT left to use . ... show more

  • Really hard to use to melt silver
Overall quality of the product is GREAT! The crucible did not crack when used with a mapp torch but I made sure to heat the crucible slowly. The graphite rod is very fragile so don't test the strength of it lol it WILL BREAK WITH LITTLE PRESSURE. The tongs were also really nice and require very little effort to hold the crucible. The process of using the Borax to coat the ceramic crucible before melting the silver or gold is much more difficult than it seems. Takes about 15-20 minutes to melt silver but it is almost impossible to get to a pure liquid form. I used it to melt larger size pieces of scrap metal to make small enough to put in a kiln. ... show more
