Description

We offer raw green unroasted coffee beans for the home roaster who enjoys roasting their own coffee beans at home. Unroasted coffee beans must be roasted prior to use for brewing. Roasting coffee can be a very simple process, or it can be a real work of art created by an experienced artisan. The roasting process has always been a mysterious kind of thing considered to be a closely guarded process of proprietary roasting profiles kept only for the privileged artisans “in the know” with sophisticated commercial roasting equipment. In recent years this has changed substantially with the new wave of home coffee roasters trying their hand at the roasting craft. They have learned many of the tricks of time and temperature modulating their own flavor profiles creating their own works of art in the cup. Coffee is a universal drink loved by many people, some for-taste others seeking the caffeine but when you roast it at home it takes on a whole new appeal. Your coffee quest becomes an intensely personal adventure where you are in control of many aspects of taste results. Roasting is truly a rewarding experience where the more experience you get the better your coffee tastes. Basically, you heat the beans to around 400F to 450F in about 10-15 minutes time period. Once the beans reach your desired doneness or “brown” simply remove them from the heat and cool to room temperature as quickly as possible. After this you can use them to brew coffee! When you buy our beans, you can rest assured that you are getting fresh current crop beans from some of the best coffee plantations in the world. We believe that the best taste comes from premium high-altitude growing regions. We source our beans with great care, ensuring that the farmers are paid fairly for their time and product. When you buy our beans, you are supporting the communities in which beans were grown ensuring equity for all. Invest in our premium high-quality beans, taking your roasting experience to the next level!

  • Better value than ordering directly from supplier
Flavor Name: Caramel Chocolate Plum Tangerine Size: 5-Pound Huehuetenango
Actually, these Guats came from SmokinBeans in Georgia. Not from AZN warehouse. Current date codes. Look & smell of beans seems same to me as direct from Smokin. Have ordered both ways; from AZN and from SmokinBeans. I use these Guatemala beans in my own blend. 1/3rd each Ethopia, Guatemala, & Columbia. A tri-fecta super blend of coffee we and guests alike complement. Nice thing about ordering from AZN, is free Prime shipping, no fussing with points, and arrives in a week. Shop, click, pay, beans on doorstep. Nice ! ... show more

  • Guatemala Huehuetenango are legit good
Flavor Name: Caramel Chocolate Plum Tangerine Size: 5-Pound Huehuetenango
I've been roasting beans for 20 years, I don't usually go out of my way to write a review, but I think it's worth it for this bean. In my opinion, it's got exceptional flavor and is well worth the extra cost. I bought this type of bean from Sweet Maria's a couple of years ago and thought the same thing at the time. I kept looking for more of it, but it didn't seem available on there (or I just didn't check at the right time). When I saw it available on Amazon, I jumped at the chance to get 5 pounds. ... show more

  • One of my favorite coffees.
Flavor Name: Caramel, Milk Chocolate, Smoky Size: 5-Pound Antigua
I have always been a fan of Guatemala Antigua and this one does not disappoint. As always, Smokin Beans delivered a high grade bean. This coffee tastes great medium but also does well in the darker roasts.

  • Great coffee roasting info and very fresh coffee !!!
Flavor Name: Caramel, Milk Chocolate, Smoky Size: 5-Pound Antigua
I love to read about very useful roasting coffee beans on the back of invoice. Also the expiration date shows on the coffee bags unlike other sellers that I had bad experienced with old coffee beans. Great info and excellent coffee taste make my happy mornings!!!

  • Love it! High quality batch, versatile beans!
Flavor Name: Caramel Chocolate Plum Tangerine Size: 12.5 Pound (Pack of 1)
I've had some hit or miss experiences buying green coffee on Amazon, but I've been very impressed with this purchase! I'm almost through my 10lb bag and have only had a few 'unfit' beans, and haven't come across a single stone or other debris. The beans themselves roast evenly, and have a versatile flavor profile for different roasts. I usually prefer my roasts on the lighter side, however I find that these beans really excel more toward City+ to Full City (medium dark to dark). They're a bit too bright for me roasted light, but maintain / expose a lot of flavor further into the roast. Value for the 10lbs is great, especially for the quality of beans received! The burlap sac is a cute touch as well, though it sheds quite a bit (I'd still rather have it than not). ... show more

  • Great coffee, roast a little dark
Flavor Name: Caramel Chocolate Plum Tangerine Size: 12.5 Pound (Pack of 1)
I've been roasting my own coffee for about 10 years, so I've got a fair bit of experience and have tried a LOT of different coffees. Picked up 25 pounds of this and I'm very impressed. I took it about 20 seconds into second crack, a little darker than I'd normally do for a Central American, and it's fantastic, one of my all-time favorites. I also noticed that the coffee roasted almost perfectly uniformly, no variation in color, a very good sign. Highly recommended, but experiment with the roast and don't be afraid to take it a little further than you might think. ... show more

  • Dark Roasted Yum!
Flavor Name: Caramel, Milk Chocolate, Smoky Size: 5-Pound Antigua
I always roast my beans to the second crack and wait for the first signs of oil on the surface before the cool down. I use it for lattes and for me the flavor is beautiful. I also love Costa Rican beans roasted the same and this, for the most part, tastes fairly similar.

  • Great Coffee Value for the Home Roaster
Flavor Name: Milk Chocolate, Butter, Caramel, T... Size: 12.5 Pound (Pack of 1)
Great coffee. I generally roast this to full-city, sometimes just into fullcity-plus, stopping it right at the second crack. It has a full body with a nice aroma. Always been satisfied with the green coffees from Smokin Beans, and of course, you can have them roast them to your preference if you aren't a home coffee roaster -- although you will have to order them from their regular site and not through Amazon, since that is a custom order. Unlike almost any other roaster, if you custom order, you can specify the exact roast level you prefer. Be a bit careful with their burlap bags, if you store your beans that way. It's a nice touch, but the string that keeps the bag sealed is not real heavy, so if it breaks, you'd need to transfer the remaining beans to another container or plastic bag. ... show more
