These work well to keep the chickens from eating eggs. I wish the place they roll to was a bit more hidden from the chickens when they’re in the nesting box, but they work well. I cut silicone nesting box pads to fit.

    • Lightweight but sturdy
The nesting boxes are easy to assemble, just require a tiny amount of patience to line up pieces and put in screws. The boxes are easy to clean and have drain holes in the collection tray. The boxes handle the hens moving around and scratching, though the screws should be periodically checked for loosening. One thing to beware with this style, is some hens may try to retrieve eggs from the collection area and incidentally crack them if they can manage to reach under. If the boxes are going in a normally bright area, I'd suggest modifying the boxes to have less interior visibility. ... show more

We just love these boxes. They were easy to install and are nice and sturdy. The best part is the egg collection system, such a simple idea that makes life a little easier. It is one of those ideas that seems obvious after the fact. The price seemed a little high but these are good quality boxes that will last for many many years in my opinion.
