So here's the honest truth: my use for this is probably not the same as your use for this. It's meant to prevent a gate from sagging, but I used it for a rolling storage ladder (shown in picture attached to this review). Regardless of your use-case, you'll be pleased with the smoothness of the bearings and the quality of the machining. The finish is solid and consistent - no chips or drips or bumps. The included mounting bolts are as well-made as anything I get at my local big-box stores, so no complaints there. My only concern is the spring itself...it's softer than I expected. My ladder weighs significantly less than a fence gate, and the caster still compresses more than I would have thought for such a light-duty application. Still, it works, and it rolls over shop debris well enough, so it's worth the current cost. As of this writing, there's a 2-pack available for a small savings, so you may consider that as well. ... show more

My gates are pretty much all starting to sag, and I added these to a couple of them to prevent them from dragging. They were easy to install and I particularly like the spring-loaded functionality, which keeps the gate supported even in the case of uneven ground.

Well built, spring loaded, caster wheel to help with driveway gate weight distribution. Comes with mounting bolts and washers. While it does come with instructions installation is self explanatory. A couple of suggestions for the manufacturer; it would be nice if it had another small hole in the shaft so the spring could be compressed and a nail or cotter pin could be inserted to remove tension while installing. Additionally, the bolts are zinc coated and being as they will be exposed to the elements stainless steel would be a better option. ... show more
