I purchased 2 for grandsons and I to enjoy during their annual summer visit - they were a hit with the youngest (8) who is the budding artist. The oldest, 11 was 'ok' with the project. They provide paint for the tiles, but in order to escape the paint mess - I used a very large set of colored permanent ink pens (national brand starts with an S) and they worked perfectly! Way less mess. The magnets are stick on and seem to hold. I am a little worried because of the textured backs of the ceramic tiles that the sticky part of the selfstick magnets may give over time, but we shall see. They are actual ceramic tiles meant to be used with grout - so they have a waffle texture to the backs. The front of the tiles are smooth, an ivory shimmer to them. For the price I think they were a good deal and fun project! I never hesitate to update my reviews should new info seem useful.
